wolflet 1 Report post Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) ok will be meeting the following contractors/designers: Design Practice s*y cre*ti0n White Space Living Design Channel Free Space Intent IDzign *** IR Design anyone have positive or negative feedback about the above? (so that i can strike them off the list without wasting trips to visit them) edit: the 2nd one has been edited out by the forum; does that mean they are being blacklisted?? from your list i've contacted 4 of them. Sky_creation - expensive, the id i spoke to seems inexperienced *** - professional, price slightly on the high side. White space - stuck up, ignored me after calling to enquire about budget and that my reno starting 5 months later idzign - using them now. Id is prompt in response to my queries. So far so good. pixiepixel 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 update: yesterday was Day1 of our reno hunting. We had appointment with white space living: -we went down thinking she already has a proposed design for us... -spent 1 hours drilling nonsense into us; telling us company history, how they approach every project, workmanship blah blah presentation -told her we are short of time (allocated 1 hour for her), she spent 45 mins on her presentation, leaving the last 15 mins... -we spend that last 15 mins (eventually over-run to 25mins) telling her our requirements -in the end, no proposed design, no quotation... Next appointment was with sky_creation: -he show us a very simple proposed design. basically he intended to keep everything except redo kitchen, 2 x toilets and redo the false ceiling. -it was not what we wanted for. we wanted solutions to our cramped kitchen, solutions to our lousy balcony (which is not beside the living room)....but his proposed layout was so.....simple, plain, and its like living in the same existing state of the existing unit -we gave him out inputs, and after a while, walked around the office to show us the workmanship -showed us his kitchen showroom, yes fantastic with top grade stuff... -finally we sat down and looked at the quotation. -he gave us a kitchen + toilet package, and add on the other stuff that was required to be done...7k more than our budget. -since we intend to hack away walls and seal up, he estimated that it would be ~ 10k over our budget what I did not like about them -not detailed in proposed layout and design -take package and throw to us (literally no homework done before meeting us) tonight, a meetup with *** till then.... ne0mesis 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 ok here are some low resolution pic when it was just done up. now, it looks like a bomb with things scattered everywhere i didnt have pics of my masterbedroom toilet. this was done up nicely too but never had a chance to take pictures....maybe do so tonight living room view welcome to tblog! love the floor at your old place.. is it jus screeded floor only or issit a tile finish? cause I tot i can see something like a 800 x 800 tile finish on the floor my better half dont like industrial look cause she feels is too cold or raw. the next closest i can go is finish off with stainless steel, minimalist finishing as much as possible.. and somehow my id is halfway there. ha
