megahtz 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2010 Magnet can stick on my stainless steel backing, but not very strong, can see the magnet droping down abit, but it still stick on it. Think I kanna cheated by my ID already. But too bad I didnt ask my ID to specify which grade of stainless steel backing they giving me. gladyslim 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2010 Magnet does not stick on non- ferrous metal like s/s, brass and alumn etc. If your s/s backing was supported by plywood backing, it's most properly the screw that atrracts the magnet. The standard practice in the market uses only grade 304 s/s as grade 316 cost so much more.
