Strong Vibration From Water Pipe After Flushing The Wc

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have search the forum but couldn't find anyone with similar problem. I have moved into my house in CCK for approx 1 year. Recently, at random times, when I flush the toilet bowl, there will be a loud rattling sound for a while coming from the water pipe directly link to the toilet bowl. The vibration is so intense that the metal water pipe will come out of the holder. After a while, I managed to "solve" the problem by switching on the tap at the end of the water pipe to sort of release the pressure. Does anyone here have any experience with regards to this? I also realize that this problem will most likely occur between 2am to 4am. Is it a problem with the water piping system in my block of flat? Should I contact the town council or a plumber to fix the problem?

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. :)

I had this problem too. Both in my toilet and kitchen tap.

Each time this happen, I open the tap before to release the air lock (water hammer)

**** thing is that, it doesn't happen everytime.

This problem may aggravate to leakage in conceal pipe, which is what happen to my common toilet. Some says that there is dirt stuck in valve washer or pipe. Thus, sudden burst of water cause this problem. Water hammer arrestor only works sometimes.

And must be install correct at the right place.

Hi yoongf

Thanks for sharing. At least now I have some lead and can go about doing research...

Hi Warrior88,

Mine happen only between 2am to 4am. Maybe there is a timing where it happens?

U seems to know about this water hammer... Have you installed it or have any plumbers U can recommend who know how to install?

Thanks for all yr help and feedback...

Yoongf is the expert. I am clueless as you are. If I know, I would have rectified them as my conceal pipe is burst and that I have valve em now. Mine is a pte and the highest floor, happen occassionly only when I open the tap, not by certain time. I google a bit to find out.

Guess if you are staying at the highest floor, debris from the tank will find its way to clog your pipe to cause this problem. I am also keen if anyone plumber can help :):)
