Quotation Check

Hi,

I had the following quotation and am quite clueless about the price of the work to be done for 3 bedroom HDB flat. My intent was only to paint the whole flat and install the air-con but the quote came back with others.

1) Dismantle existing kitchen cabinet and touch up fridge base - $300

2) Fabricate and install bottom cabinet in laminate finishing L-9ft - $990

3) Fabricate and install solid surface top - $720

4) Supply and change stainless steel pipe for kitchen and 02 toilet - $480

5) Supply and install alum pvc sliding door for sink support - $170

6) To painting for whole house wall and ceiling - $1000

7) Supply and install wrought iron main gate - $430

8) Supply labour to install 01 no 15A air-con point and install lighting - $250

9) Supply and install system 02 air-con with bracket - $1620

10) Acid was for whole house and clear rubbish - $280

I thought the cabinet was a little pricey but not sure as I have been away from Singapore for ages to be sure. The flat is going to be renovated for rental, so I'm really half-hearted to do it up. I was just thinking of getting a portable oven stove instead.

By the way, does laminate finishing means glossy top?? Is wrought iron main gate a standard type of gate for HDB flats? Does it matter what type of metal it is?

If u just want painting and air-con installation, then forget about the rest of the quote.

Buy an air-con, let them install then ask a painting service to paint whole house. All less than $5K.

Thanks, Jaskel. I am waiting for the agent to send the pictures of the existing cabinet (I'm overseas now) to see how bad is the condition of the cabinet. As the flat is going to be rented out and the last reno was 20 years ago, thought it may be time to fix the cabinet. If to fix the cabinet and the gate, does the price look reasonable?
