tetcheng 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 Hi, I am considering buying a dryer, but I am not sure what are the pros and cons of getting a washing machine cum dryer and getting separate washing machine and dryer. I would like to seek the advice from those who have bought the 2-in-1 and those who have separate washing machine and dryer. Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance. weezersg 5 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 I have a Toshiba dryer/washer load is 6kg/9kg been using almost 3 years now. 2 in 1 is good if space is limited and if you are lazy to transfer from washer to dryer. It can dry your clothes fully and has anti-crease program, the key is dont overload when drying...if u do the clothing will feel slightly damp, otherwise it even feel hot to touch. I am happy with it. The downside is the drying cycle is quite long.
forgotten 1 Report post Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) I think separate ones are better. If one of them is spoiled, you just have to replace one. This saves cost. My mum's washing machine was spoilt after 3 years, she only had to replace the washing machine. Her dryer is still working well till now. On the other hand, 2-in-1 type saves space. See which factor is more important to u hehe. Edited June 7, 2010 by forgotten
ene1010.tan 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2010 It would be better to buy separately, get a dryer that can dry clothes completely. My mum used to own a Washer-cum-dryer from Samsung, the clothes are normally not dried but just semi-dryer (due to air blow drying) and it seems to take a longer time cycle to wash and dry clothes in the end. She bought an additional dryer instead, it is then mounted on the top of the washer-cum-dryer. Now, our clothes are thoroughly dried. Hope the above helps
