chweech 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 Hi, can anyone share what is the difference between water repellent coating and waterproofing? If I would to do cement plastering in the toilet which one is recommended? you need the following: 1. Waterproofing coat below the cement screed (MAPEI LASTIC) 2. Cement Screed to contain water proofing mixture (i regret not knowing about this). 3. One more on top to make it shine... you have two choices. One is acrylic coat and the other one is concrete hardener type where it gets absorbed into the concrete... i bump into a fanstastic product called GECKO SUPER HARD but i can't find it in Singapore! Waterproofing is 100% no water passage, but look out for those "gaps" & "edges" while applying such. Cement screed with a layer of enamel paint = water repellent, excellent. leechaorui 2 Report post Posted July 13, 2010 I am using Quicseal for waterproofing. You can google and read more about it. Looks like a good product but I have not personally tested it.
