My Second Home At Fernvale Vista

Recommended Posts

ya, depends on ur preference. for some they prefer more drawers (like me) cos no need to bend down and reach in so my kitchen cabinets lower part I do mostly drawers. but that said, drawers means more $$ cos they cost more. so u have to weigh in ur budget + ur preference + ur lifestyle. Get it?

actually I think drawer cost more only if you are getting blum system, right? If just normal drawer runners, I believe contractor/carpenter/ID can absorb?

Finally decided to get the ScanPan knife set after much deliberation. Don't know much about choosing a knife, so largely made a decision based on intuition.

Today we went for a second round of dry lay - with company B. luckily, our deal with the company A did not materialise, because when the salesman from the B counted, we realised that company A had counted in excess of what is needed, even after taking a % for wastage into consideration - this is truly a blessing in disguise!

So everyone take note - please do not take what the tile company tells you at face value, make sure you count the pieces of tiles needed. Imagine in my case, the difference is as much as 40 pieces! And each piece costs $25, so that's a wastage of $1000 if I had purchased the marble from company A! And after that, what am I supposed to do with the balance of 40 pc of marble tiles? :curse:

No major complaints (yet), but was a bit frustrated about the lack of communication.

first, we had thought the kitchen glass panels will be full height, but ended up it there is a "partition" that blocks the full view. Apparently, it's stated in the contract as 2.1m, but we sort of overlooked (or did not realise, or just plain blur) that that is not the same as full height ... later, we also learnt that to do sliding door, this is inevitable since the door has to hang on some support.

So this marks our first miscomm. Now I believe that reno sure got hiccups :(
