Hi, i just get quotations from a contracter, and my mom actually unknowingly go pay the confirmation payment.

The quotation goes like this.

Demolish works $2600

hack and disposal of existing two toilet and kitchen floor tiles and wall tiles.

Masonry Works

Lay homogenous floor tiles kitchen $1500 $2.80/tile

lay water proofing membrane at kitchen area $250

Lay ceramic wall tiles $2600

Lay homogenous floor tiles Master toilet $500 $2.80/tile

Lay water proofing membrane at master toilet flooring $150

Lay ceramic wall for master toilet $1500

Lay homogenous floor tiles at common toilet $500

Lay water proofing membrane at common toilet flooring $150

Lay ceramic wall tiles at common toilet $1500

Touch up wall / floor / skirting $450

Build est:23'L kitchen base $600

Install rubbish hood at kitchen area $180

Carpentry Works

Build concrete stove 7'L x 32'HT with tiles $1330

Design & fabricate est 7'L kitchen cabinet in ABS trimming laminated door c/w Soft close swing door $840

i) design handles & cutlery tray

ii) Supply labour to install cooker hood & hob at kicthen cabinet

Design & fabricate 3.5'L top cabinet to box up kitchen cabinet piping and storage $630

Design & fabricate 3'L tall cabinet at kitchen area $750

Install soild-top surface at kitchen cabinet est: 7ft $560

Plumbing Work

Install stainless piping for kitchen and 2 toilets $680

Install Water heater for 2 toilet $200

Install toilet basin for 2 toilets $120

Install toilet bowl for 2 toilets $200

Install toilet assessories for both toilets $80

Install toilet bidet sprayer for 2 toilets $80

Install shower head for 2 toilets $100

Replace discharge stack at kitchen area $799

F.ceiling Work and Painting work

plastering ceiling at one kitchen and 2 toilets $560

Paint ceiling kitchen and 2 toilets $600

Insyall 9'L X 4'HT aluminum window grills at kitchen area $300

Glass door and wooden door

tempier sliding glass door at master bedroom $780

temper glass sliding door 3'L x 7'HT at kitchen entrance (half sandblast) 780

Aluminum bi-folded door with acrylic frame $240

Miscellaneous/ General service works

chemical to clean up whole unit $300

General cleaning upon completion

Disposal of debris to NEA designated dumping site $450

Uplifting all building materials from void deck to renovating site $200

Lay protectuon Cover whole unit flooring $200

Total $21,749

Above is teh cost for renovating both toilets and kithen.

Personally i believe this quotation is kinda expensive especially the miscellaneous area. SHould there even actually have such cost?

I believe most contractors dont have?

Touching up of unsatisfied area are also in the miscellaneous cost, shouldnt these be included in renovating project, why should consumer be paying this. Instead to my knowledge, consumer can opt not to acknowledge if work done is not satisfied.

Bro your reno and my are about the some beside the tile, Install rubbish hood at kitchen area, design handles & cutlery tray are different but 1 thing for sure my contractor nvr charge me Disposal of debris(if you are talking about debris for old carpentry and tile etc which you are doing for reno), Uplifting all building materials from void deck to renovating site, General cleaning upon completion and lay protection cost and also touching up of unsatisfied area is within the project no cost involved too as it's the services he's give.
