the problem arises when my mum wants to keep her 'talaso' flooring

which is horrendous in color - GREEN .. okie a nice word will be jade

she said used 30yrs liao still so shiny .. so u guys can roughly guess how old i am

haha

the next problem is .. i have a high taste for everything

i have no idea why those things i ask is usually the most expensive .. this is also part of the reason why i want to DIY

i am saving those fees and will use to purchase what i want

p/s: polish the floor (newly add in first post)

I also bought a flat that undergoes HDB upgrading.

Like you, I let HDB upgrades my toilets, refuse hopper and metal grille gate. The touch-up will be completed tomorrow.

I employ an ID to do the rest of my house. The hacking will start this thu.

Try to go down to monitor closely when HDB upgrades your toilets.

They gave us a big headache.

Their finishings are lousy. I asked them to redo some things.

The wet works are poorly done, so there are quite a few hollow tiles.

Whenever they drill a hole, they have to change some tiles.

I predict more headache when I ask my ID to install the bathroom accessories(e.g. glass shelves).

Btw, I paid the tiler extra cash to build a drop for me in my MBR toilet because I want to have a shower screen.

I also paid plumber extra cash to change my copper piping to stainless steel piping.

If you want to build a kerb in your living room, then the metal gate needs to be shorter.

It was too late when I told them I want to build a kerb because the metal grille gate is already manufactured.

Is your partition wall for dividing foyer and living room?

copper is cheaper?!?

Sighs.

But I think copper needs to be painted.

Whatever it is, I'm glad that the HDB upgrading for my toilets are going to be completed.

Copper used to be cheaper, but since the price of copper went up, it's slightly more expensive now. Most plumbers would charge the same for stainless steel or for copper. They used to charge higher for stainless steel :)

Copper is preferred by plumbers as it can be easily bent. My house is mostly stainless steel, except for the part that leads from the shower lever to the instant heater and from the shower lever to the water pipe.

I don't paint it. It didn't rust but it did oxidise to dark brown colour :) But since it doesn't get into contact with water (I intend to box up with acrylic panels soon) it's alright.

Wet works=cement screeding & tiling

kerb is to prevent water seeping in when they wash floor outside.

It's usually built under metal gate
