Kitchen Ceiling Leakage Spoilt Furniture

hi all, my kitchen ceiling is leaking water from the upper unit and this has caused my kitchen's cabinet spoilt as it is make by wood. may i know who will be responsible for it and can i claim my lost for the cabinet from hdb or my neighbour staying upstair?

hi all, my kitchen ceiling is leaking water from the upper unit and this has caused my kitchen's cabinet spoilt as it is make by wood. may i know who will be responsible for it and can i claim my lost for the cabinet from hdb or my neighbour staying upstair?

- HDB will advise you to absorb 50%-50% over the phone or email.

- Upstair unit owner will ask you to "fly kite", if you just knock on his door.

- The remedy is to get the roof repaired & at same time ask HDB (if possible) to send a Technical Office to evaluate the damage's root cause & come with a report. HDB may engage a surveyor to look into cause.

- Based on this report, then talk above "cost to be absorbed" by who on the kitchen cabinet stuff!

complain to HDB with subject Common toilet ceiling is too dangerous is useless, technical officer come say not their problem.
