theanswer03 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) Hi all, Just started our reno on Monday. It's been a very busy time for both of us and since this is our first reno, I have to say that without some of the information we got from you guys here, we would totally be lost. Hopefully this blog would do the same for the next generation of reno newbies like ourselves. Here come some pictures of our unit before reno started. Living room View from living room window We decided to name the place Hobbiton as it is really a tiny flat. HDB is really trying to pack us in as much as possible. Hopefully we will be able to afford our Rivendell soon. Edited May 12, 2010 by theanswer03

Thanks actually the Shire is part of Hobbiton, not the other way around. In fact we should name our place The Shire but I guess more people will associate "Hobbits" with "Hobbiton" than The Shire. Decided to use Hobbiton for the benefit of Non LOTR fan.

theanswer03 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Good Morning! Welcome to RT.. your place is just opposite mine. how big is your unit? don't look too small to me.. Hi, our unit is only 90m2. I dunno why it looks quite spaceous in the photo. Some of our friends/relatives even said "such a big place" However, you have to be inside to appreciate how small it is. Space is always an important consideration during our furniture shopping. Haiz, no choice, I guess all the new flats HDB is building are the same. Some 4 room units at the new Dawson project is only 84m2. Maybe HDB is trying to turn us all into Les Schtroumpfs , Hobbit is just a transition stage.
