yup moved in after christmas last year..

jz that still hv a lot of boxes of hubby's toys to unpack into his recently built cabinet... cant wait to hv all the boxes gone !!

Spent $850 on the following:

- kitchen sink (crizto scratch resistant）

- kitchen tap (vrh)

- 4 pieces of corner glass shelves

- 1 mirror

- 1 glass shelf below mirror

- 1 double towel bar(can fit 65cm towels)

- 2 toilet paper holder(stainless steel)

- 2 sets of hooks

- 2 pcs 2-way taps(vrh)

- 1 basin sink tap(pozzi)

we chose stainless steel finishings for most items. Hope it really last.

walked over to another shop nearby and spent $730

- rinnai hob & hood

- square basin for vanity top

last purchase is a 42" plasma TV (Panasonic THP42G11S) @$1149

i hope the tv is as gd as it sounds.

Parts from japan & assembled in japan.

No burnt marks like older models...etc(not a techie)

We checked out the price elsewhere $1399.

The sale ends tomorrow, so we bought it.

My hubby was quite keen on it so we bought it.

not sure how much it'll cost but i tink glass door is prob a good idea especially if u cook a lot..

Usually I start with the layout, guess the few monster are, TV console, sofa, and dining table.

Dining table - kitchen or living hall ?

Glass door ? tell you what, most of of time it will be open. be prepare to clean greasy glass.

For glass door, might wanna consider the convenience of each entry and maintenence.

Always consider the maintenence

I place my dining table in the hall, so that my family our friends can dine together

I guess, it also depends on each lifestyle.

TV console - check the sun direction, esp if your TV is plasma.

Decide the size of each item, then you can decide if you still wanna do partition.

The HDB contractor worker caused us a lot of inconvenience.

Our problem can be prevented with a 1.5 m hose.

When he installed the heater, he connected the s/s water pipe directly to the heater inlet.

Then I saw that one inlet of 2-way tap was not connected, so I asked how come it's never connect.

He said there's no need. I also never really think how am I going to control the water flow of heater.

I also don't really understand his reply(Indian worker).

Then I took out the 2-way taps and brought back to the shop to exchange for single tap.

When I returned home, I wanted to test out the water heater. Then I realised that there's no tap to control it.

How idiotic I feel! We immediately complained to the contractor and he gave a shelling to the worker.

We drove back to the shop again and exchanged for our original 2-way taps.

Luckily the sale assistant is very nice to allow use to exchange back.

This time we bought the hose to connect the water heaters correctly.

We are also going to ask HDB contractor to redo the folding door and shift the basin to correct position.

Bathroom renovation by HDB is already so problematic. I hope the major renovation by ID will be smooth sailing.

maybe the tv console too simple? and that wall's colour.. hmm.. maybe change colour and see how?

foyer - if add downlight, should be ok bah.. i used to have pebble stone for one of my previous home.. not too bad, just vacuum..

How should we place the sofa?

TV on partition wall?

Sofa resting on partition wall?

Or open-concept with no foyer?

We hope to have privacy but yet do not sacrifice the natural light from windows.

The bed is too near the wardrobe. It seems that you have only 40cm of walking space. That is too cramped. You need at least 60cm. Mine is 80cm, rather comfortable It also does not match your floorplan, if your wardrobe is on the left, your windows will be covered. If you flip it, it makes more sense. The washbasin looks rather far from the toilet. Hmm, either the picture is wrong or you have another walkway behind your wardrobe. Did you hack the wall between MBR and toilet? I think it would be clearer if you can upload your spaceplan

I think the foyer isn't a good idea as it is very cramped. the passage space looks 80cm wide. if you use a full height wall to cover it, it will make the place look dark. If you really need to have a foyer, have you considered half height wall with the rest frosted glass or translucent acrylic panel? Or even better, full height frosted glass.

I would suggest not to have a foyer. If you want privacy, just close the door

As for your kitchen, it would be good if your tile lines follow-through from the floor to the skirting. Do also check the width between the kitchen sink and your tall cabinet if there is enough space to walk through. 3D pictures are often deceptive

My rooms are quite small and i have a storage cabinet that gives me only 40-50cm walking space - a bit tight.

I wonder when most ID/contractors do 3Ds for the clients, do they actually scale the drawings to client's floor plan ? Sometimes i suspect that they just recycle the images. Anyway, mine certainly didnt and i had to generate my own 3D rendering.

if TV on partition wall, your console must be those on the floor (like your 3D pic), cannot be those suspending in the air type cos not secure.. tat's what my contractor told me..

Why dont do those open concept lattice type where you can also put decorations. Also, would the partition reduce your living room area by a lot ? Ask your ID to give different views of your living room with and without the partition ....

Also got to think of location of your SCV and electrical points for your TV set
