Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

nice buys there! sometimes the simplest no frills design is the hardest to find!

I oso say! I'm now having a headache finding a nice, loooong, TV console. There's nothing that I like out there. Those that I like are about $2K!

now u going retro...haha....

I realised I really like certain aspects of the industrial theme, but not all ( the practical Singaporean in me coming out). I like certain aspects of the 60's look, but not all.. I like clean lines on my furniture, but absolutely adore the intricacy of moroccan grilles.. So I've decided that a more suitable theme for me would be "Eclectic". :D

where's this place? share here la.... :)

ok ok... don't say gd things i don't share with all of you. I've got them fromSecond Charm. Sharifah is a very nice lady who is doing a job I would love to have (go around Singapore & M'sia and source for old vintage furniture and restore them to their original beauty)

I may ask them to move the feature wall tiles up so that it would be in line with the other wall tiles. It does not need to be in line at the top, but I think the centre portion is impt coz that's where people will look at. But because the size of the tiles are different ( feature wall tile is 45 x45), normal wall tile is 60x60, it may be difficult to do so..

I was reminded again yesterday why it is so important to buy a good shower set and tap.

Yesterday, the shower hose screw(or is it a nut? not sure what you call it) to the shower head broke into tiny pieces when I tried to take the shower head out of its holder!!

There I was showering halfway when the **** thing broke. So I had to complete my shower is just the hose (imagine washing your hair with one hand and holding the hose with another).

It was a cheapo set I bought last year at a neighbourhood shop. The previous shower head that came with the condo started having issues in the 3rd -4th year (spray not strong, like something stuck, water dripping)

So if I plan to stay more than 5 years in my place, some things really cannot scrimp..otherwise you will have to live with the sudden inconvenience at the most inappropriate time..

Vintage venzian (see post #222, Pg 6). Gimz was saying that it looked something like his MBR one.

Dining set bought..

Looks like the mood is getting more and more retro...

Colours of the chair remind me of Lilithfiend's wall color.. :D

The dining surface is laminate and the chairs have been newly upholstered. My mum is going to freak out for buying something that is so 60s!

Dun say... you know I wanted to build my table, right? But Ikea charges each cut they make of the countertop and I would need to find a brace to the tabletop for the weight. I just don't have the tools to do it.

I'm now thinking how to use the Numerar countertop without cutting it for my TV console with Capita legs. My concern is that Capita legs can't hold the weight..

hmm...What did you see? My solid teak super single bedframe was less than $500. But some of her things are pricey..

Nah.. won't be reupholstering the chairs..Will leave it as it is until the cat scratches it to death..

Hmmm...I think I need to settle down and seriously calculate my expenditure thus far.

I'm more ngeow over the cost of wetworks and fittings because I can't take them with me if I were to move, but furniture is something that you can bring with you when you move, so I'm prepared to splurge a bit.

(Though a $2K dining table would be too much even for me).
