Does this area belong to me or does it constitute a recess area that I must purchase? I believe it is part of the unit already as it will usually have a gate which you have the keys to. Ours has been modified so the front door is on the balcony and I believe the floor size is the same as yours. Bottom line though is to gust give the HDB a quick call.
