Electrical Requirements For Pyrolytic Oven

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was shopping for a pyrolytic oven and a sales lady asked me if I was staying in a private or HDB apartment. She told me that many people don't know that HDB cannot install pyrolytic oven. Over time, the electric wire will melt if I use the self-cleaning function (500 degrees celsius). She also mentioned that using more than one induction ring on the hob will also cause electric meter to trip if it is in a HDB flat. Is this true? I know nothing about such so hope the experts can clarify and what I can do if I really want to have a pyrolytic oven in my EM. I am going to have gas hob but it may be helpful for some other readers if this is also addressed. Thanks in advance!

It can be install but the contractor or electrician need to know how. Small issue. U can also use induction hob, but u need to do some research on it too. HDB max. load for electrical appliance is not to excess 3KW. The induction hob got the spec. on max. energy consumption such as 3.6KW (think it was 4 inductions) or 2.3KW (should be ard 2 inductions). If u want 4 induction hobs, the arrangement should be 2 + 2 rather than 4 and each hob should connect to individual power points rather than combine them together. Normally a household contain of 13A, 15A or 20A points so u should also know which is use for which appliances.

To eliminate the problem of melting wiring or connector, it was the issues on ventilation at the back of your built-in cabinet. So your ID/contractor should advise u on that.
