froggy 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 Hello Does anyone know where I can go to view samples of marble? Also, any idea why there is such a big difference amongst the different kinds of marble? From $10+ to $50 to $60 psf? Is it the origin? The colour? Quality? Or what? thanks!
Vincent1909 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 ok easy why marble pricing is different 1st u must know what is called cut from slabs or cut to size . cut from slabs mean that the marble or granite supplier will bring in big slab of marble normally 150 0to 3000mm x1200 to 1400mm in size . Then u can see ur slabs swee swee until u happy and tell the suppliers what u like and dislike about the marble . u can avoid the holes , or scars at the marble which u hate . and u can also choose size of the marble u want depend on the size of the marble . cut from slabs is expensive as due to the fact that u can choose the best out of the whole slabs and those u don;t want will not be given to u , this isl called wastage . but don't assume wastage is free , all marble suppliers including me will bill u for it as due to the fact , when we buy the marble slabs , we buy the whole stuff , we can't choose like u To save money , try to maximum the useable rate of he marble slabs and reduce the wastage to 10% or below cut from slabs normal price range is from $150 to $500 depending from what type of marble u want cut to size is those pre sized marble like 600x600 , 300x600mm .. normally these sort of marble come from europe or middle east , as china don;t do these . they are much more cheaper . but however it mean what is in the crate u must take . if u are lukcy , u can get very good marble at cheap rate , if u are unlucky , u can see scars or holes of different shades of marble color . secondly after those major projects , there are lots of leftovers . those companies will repack them and resize them for resales , these kind of marble , u must make sure u are the first few to buy so that u can pick and choose or else pray to god . but if u don't different color shades of marble in ur living area , u can buy it cut to size pricing is normally $60 to 120/m2 for mid range of marble lar I m tired but i will explain more when i have the time
