well, we've been fixing our aircon alot of times, is about 7yrs old? lg from the prev owner, and everytime we spend 500-800sgd fixin after 1 or 2 mth been down, and needa get ppl fix again, i foudn another aircon technition, he said lg wasnt that gd and suggest we should change all the aircon at least new aircon have warantly is cheaper then we keep fixing it, but seriousli, the aircon seem new is wrking is just that the air is not cold air, compressor or motor spoil i tink.....we just change a brand new moto/compressor oso, 2mths its down again, any1 any sugestion other then tearin my whoel house to put de new aircon +pipe which might cost up to 10k.....????

orca, after reading from the post. you state that you had change a new air-con but are all the pipings changed at that point of time?

Also by just changing the air-con and the compressor it wont help. If you mention that the air-con didnt provide you cool air. For the past 7 years have the air-con undergo any maintainces?

Changing the entire air-con and pipings wont cost you a bomb. Depends on the brand and type of air-con you are getting. Do take note on the "ticks" on energy savings. Every cents worth.

Maintainence as in like car service once a mth those sort..? O nt much of an idea

Coz the prev owner of this house we shift in didn't provide much details about the aircon

The pipe system quit bad, only when we shifted in+renovate abit,

Then we realise the wall starts to have "fungus" n it seems like the pipe have problem too,

So if we tear down the aircon to build the pipe+aircon, might need to tear down the house zzzzz...

For maintainence wise dont need to be like once a month. Maybe about 6 months once in order to ensure a smooth flow of the inlet and outlet. So your room will be much cooler.

gosh. since you already had mention on the "fungus" guess the piping start to have condensation already. So would be good to change all. Stil if your air-con pipings in being cover then yes have no choice but have to tear the portion which had pipings out.

Is it possible to re-install the pipings instead of replacing the old ones?

If it's possible, maybe can consider replacing the whole unit/system instead of replacement for the parts.

Although it may not looks nice but at least can solve your parts replacements. Save yr time and $$.

Hope this helps.

Cheers pal :drunk:

it is possible to change the pipings and replace the old ones. It will be more expensive. Still no harm asking as it will lower ur cost as you had already got a brand new compressor and air-con.

Thanks everyone I llook into it again :)

Any1 tried diy ya aircon? It don't seem that complicated is just sg abit lazi? No offence coz I was watchin tv then I realise most angmoh build house and stuff, even my frien migrate there oso, so I wonder is actuyally possi to diy

Is just we don't have time

DIY air-con it can be done, still there a lot of things need to take note especailly the inlet and outlet. If the flow is not smooth then many problems will occur. Also need to know the shortest path of your pipings cover. How to run and where to run in order to have less visable piping as possible then you will need to know what will be the grade of copper pipes, thickness of the pipings and what the width of your piping cover required. Duie to different combination of air-con have their own standards.
