Hi Sazeryn

are you using any glass backsplash? I like your laminate color combination.

also thinking of doing 2 tone for top and bottom cabinet, plus different colour for backsplash - don't know will become too messy or not?

backsplash behind the hob issit? nope i didnt.. my friend is having neither hood or any backsplash..she just use those disposable aluminum type for heaving cooking and her kitchen is still in good condition..

maybe.. in times to come.. if it doesnt wrk for me.. i might consider stainless steel..

My SIL is having black backsplash.. but even after she clean.. the black backsplash still look greasy..

I'm also not having the glass backsplash, budget tight :( But i seldom cook so tiles should be ok.

But i guess the glass backsplash is really nice to have.

One question :

Anyone had their built in Oven cabinet built this way? where the rack for the oven is lower than the counter top?

WIll the side drawers be affected?? will there be heat transmitted out from the oven? IS it ok for the fridge to be place next to it?

I didnt think much of it till my husband starts asking me these question.. this is my first time having a built in oven..

HElp...

This is the pic of my cabinet soon to be ready..

Yup. It's normal for the rack to be lower than the counter top when you have 2 ovens. Else, if you level with your counter top, your top oven will be inaccessible.

Oven will give out heat as they are electrical appliances. More or less the sides of the cabinets will absorb some heat. How much ? It depends on the make and quality of the ovens. As fridge is an electrical appliance and need to dissipate heat too, I don't think it's advisable to place it next to your oven. It's the same as the fridge should not be next to your hob too.

If your fridge does not have a base, just get your ID to design extra cabinets to fill up the space. Is it possible to relocate your fridge elsewhere? It's common for fridges not to have bases now. Mine does not so that I'll not be restricted by its size when I need to change to a new fridge.

I never thought of this! my oven is also in built and would e next to the fride. :bangwall:

I think i have a cupboard in between fridge and oven though. that narrow cupboard cannot put food though. the heat would spoil the food i guess :(

have you asked your id?
