Stove And Sink Support

Recommended Posts

Using concrete skeleton seems like a good idea. U still can 'wrap' it up with solid surface and wooden doors to give it a 'morden' look. Would it be cheaper and longer lasting than having wood skeleton all the way?

Ya man. Paying wood, I rather pay for concrete.

In fact, same goes to wardrobe, I rather pay for pole system then wooden cabinet, moreover pole system is flexible in some ways.

oh I didnt explore this option, cos my mom place was concrete top which I thought its rather old fashion.

Now I see the pic here, very nice indeed and u said it was cheaper?

I bought granite 2b sink and to be placed next to my stove, wonder can support or not, my contractor only mention 'woah u buy granite, so heavy.'

My carpenter suggest putting those thick laminates inside the cabinet under the sink instead of those thin white laminates. They mention it will be longer last and less prone to water and moisture.

Any comments?

Installed with Homogenous polish tiles, so durable.. there is no more worry for water leaking,

no more worry about placing hot pot on work top, and the concrete stand is hidden <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bath.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bath:" border="0" alt="bath.gif" />

I am wondering since tiling is done for concrete top, sides and base .. is tiling also done underneath the concrete top? I am referring to the underside of the concrete top which you will see when you open the cabinet doors and look upward.

i don't think its a good idea to paste heavy tile underneath when there is a gravity count.

just let it be cement finished.

Thank you Tiler Seng.

Just to ask what is the cost to remove existing 13ft bottom kitchen cabinets, solid surface top and do a 13 ft concrete countertop with cabinet doors instead?

hi tilerseng, if I had just renovated my kitchen not long ago and I want to build concrete support under kitchen sink, must the whole tabletop be removed? Can just remove the interiors of the cabinet and build concrete support & tiled it mah?
