End of Week 4 - Of Air con trunkings, laminates, metal accessories and lady killer...

Quite a productive day we had today!

Bright and early - 10am. Aircon guys came to install the compressor and lay all the trunking. Walked through the routing for gas and water pipes with the installation guy and Jaskel. Learnt that most installers will take the easy way out and run both gas and water together. Also, running them together may affect the water levelling. We decided to hide most of our gas piping in the false ceiling, and run the water piping separately. :) Less bulky trunking. Swee! :good:

11am - Zoom off to Sungei Kadut to see the large laminte pieces to confirm our choice of laminates. Like our tiles, they are cosy, and of course, harmonious. :paint: Quite happy with the choices, we only had to change one particular selection. We even made it to two places before they closed at 12 noon.

Break for lunch. :)

Then off to Song Cho at KLP. Jaskel got there ahead of us, and went to rearrange the stuff in the shop to show us the configuration we were looking for. :sport-smiley-018: Nicely done Jaskel! Settled all our metal accessories there and then with a rather friendly sales lady... whom we noticed, was FLIRTING WITH JASKEL!!! He asked about warranty info, she gave him her handphone number! Jaskel is not just an aunty killer, he's a lady killer!

Next week - finishing up of tiling, plumbing, then followed by flooring and carpentry. GO GO GO!

Most will feel that running on 1 big trunking will look nicer than running on 2 separate trunking, if I'm not wrong, those without false ceiling in the bedrooms will prefer to see 1 big trunking rather than 1 middle, 1 small trunkings. Of course, its faster and lesser work to nail 1 trunking than to nail 2 trunkings la :P and that is what most installers prefer.

:dunno: why she give me her personal hp no. and I'm only asking about the warranty info.

thats not the best bit...she purposely messed up our order so that we had to return back to the shop so that she can try her round 2 on jaskel! she flirts like theres no tomorrow!! & when he failed to reciprocate when she gave him her hp..she insisted she write down his on the carbon copy of our invoice..."any problem you call me ok...*blink* blink*...i can resolve for you, big or small..." :good:

seriously man! every project sure got some lady swoon..you are the Don Juan De-Contractor! :P

but she wasn't too bad...still got some mileage left i'd say...i'm suprised she didn't see your ring...hmm were u wearing it ?!

who are these 2 fellas? they are not the same guys who were installing the trunking in the morning

btw the compressor side, the insulators are all exposed - & my last unit it was covered with shiny kind of material that looks like aluminum foil - u think its necessary?

The one drawing something on the wall is the supervisor and the one standing is my false ceiling supervisor. We was discussing on how big is your units and how it may affect the false ceiling. So need the dimension of the units and the spacing require for servicing of your units in future.

U mean from the wall outside to the compressor, the insulation are all exposed? If yes, then that is the way everyone have it. All houses in Singapore installing air-con is the same. I can't help it too, as I didn't attend the courses for Air-con installation at BCA (if not I'll become air-con installer rather than contractor liao :P ). If 10 different companies and installers install the insulation to the compressor in this way, I can't really feedback anything to them cos havn't seen anyone doing it differently yet. Your last unit, u r referring to which unit? I was there quite late(ard 6.45pm) after our meeting and it was already turning dark. So most of the things I can't see it clearly.

 ya thats the one, my previous hse, the a/c guys used like some of aluminum foil to cover it, whereas other neighbors are left exposed...thats wat i meant :D if its necessary

but i see your point..there's no real standard of implementation.
