How To Stop Kitchen Glass Door From Slamming?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just realised after installing a glass swing door for my kitchen that the wind from the yard is actually very strong... strong enough to blow the glass dorr close!

Now very worried that the door might just shatter one of these days.... besides the old school type of door stopper (which sometimes may end up forgetting to put), anyone has any ideas/experiences to share how to prevent the glass door from slamming or at else close slowly (i.e. like the Blum for kitchen cabinets)

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!!

Is not no experience, I don't think any one had done it before. A cheap way to solve the problem is to add in the rubber U tube at the edges of the door. This is usually seen in the shower screen glass door. Putting it below will surely reduce the fast motion but the opening is also will be a bit difficult too.

there is a hinge that close slowly, I think a lot of commercial complexes glass doors behaves that way. My glass doors for my family hall and MBR behaves that way. The shower screen glass doors slams close though. My contractor said he used special hinge for the more impt glass doors.

instead of door stopper which u put at bottom, try door bumper? it's like a soft piece of rubber which u can just slide in at door if wind blow, will cushion e effect, very cheap. sg i duno sell how much, bought mine in jb only for S$2.
