tigertgr 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 Haha seems like towards the end, most of us feel that reno progress is slow. I suppose nothing compared to effect of seeing your place getting hacked and demolished. Yep by the time ur furniture is in, then it will really look like a "home" So true!!! starting phase was like a flash..... everyday u can see things being done... .. i think we are at the stage that we just want to get the reno over and done with... very tired running here and there , running errands for the new place... PUB, Phone line/internet,parking,change of address.... lol.. like cannot finish...
sgnick 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 Dusty floor.. I try not to think of the dust underneath my new flooring But I kinda like the finished effect.. Hi, can I know what kind of flooring is this?
jtcp82 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 Wow, as what samgalz mentioned, first time hearing that cement cost is not included. Only heard before that plastering needs extra cost. How much did the cement amount to?? About 500+, a long list of items. I think some is for the plastering of my walls. Still got white cement and grey cement. Hopefully he didn't get too much of an earful from my mil. Not sure what was conversed about, but I don't like too much heated conversations? I think it's better to maintain a good working relationship. Thanks for the advice, will prob get the husband to go down more often. Thank goodness his work is not that busy now coz I'm likely to be working late next week. Just like to ask btw, is ABS trimming included in your carpentry and quote? qezash 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 Like your Balcony foldable door How much does it cost? about 1.7k, it's one of the most expensive single item but the old door tended to get stuck, so decided to change. If it's just silver or bronze instead of white color, will be cheaper by 200 bucks. changing your balcony door?
jtcp82 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 so your quote is just workmanship? Plastering is expensive, think prob 1-2k for whole flat.. Some materials they provide, like piping and wiring. They quoted me 3.2K for the plastering of the whole house. By the way, nice laminates.

When I saw the price, thought of sticking to the rusty door also, but I got over-ruled.. Thanks, the laminates were costlier than usual, but I think it came out rather well

qezash 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 Is your laminates raised? from the pics, it looks like decking. Nope, i think it is because there is an additional layer of rubber-like material underneath. This it to reduce the "walking on air" effect supposedly.
