Florence A Province Of Italy Existing In The Heart Of Singapore

Recommended Posts

You may want to add white fluorescent countertop lighting at the kitchen cabinets. I have 2 ceiling lights in my kitchen and i find it very dim without the countertop lights. Another light i would have added would have been a light above the sink.

Are you using any T5 lights for your cove lighting ? The T5 lights would have to overlap each other ...

The switches arent very expensive to get in Singapore. You may need more switches for the additional lights. eg 3 gang switches.

Another thing to consider is to have ceiling fans, 2 way switch for the entrance, display cabinet lighting, dimmers etc

I think your reno project will be interesting as you will not be using ID to design and manage the works.

Yes indeed I am excited on how things will turn out but lots of pre-renovation homework to be done. Have bought quite a number of magazines, visiting showflats, etc. to get renovation ideas... :D

It's a good suggestion, blueocean. Will persuade HTB to put led strips or fluorescent countertop lighting... :P May I know what is T5 lighting?

Oh...we are going for minimalist thus no display cabinet as we do not like clutter...hehe

We bought our first item which is the Serta bed after trying Simmons, Slummberland and Sealy from IMM. Was torn between Sophisication and Starlight models. Both HTB and I felt that Sophisication was fantastic but in terms of pricing is on the high side. To save cost thus we can buy other things, we opt for Starlight. Instead of free bedsheets, we chose Ottoman instead. The freebies are as follows:

  • 1 Ottoman
  • 1 mattress protector
  • 2 pillows
  • 1 Serta Sheep

Here's a picture of the Serta Bed we bought including the bedframe.

HTB and I have been running around to source for furnitures, lightings, etc for the new home. Taking advantage of this year GSS hoping to get a good deal. Here are our recent purchases including this week. Choosing furnitures and lightings can be tiring as well.... :drunk:

Just a thought, perhaps a round table fit your square dining layout.

Also, do take note of the orientation of your rectangular ceiling lights.

nice dining table! care to share where u bought it from & for how much?

Sure, lilithfiend.

Thanks! Bought it from Mode Studio at Tradehub 21 even though we read through the forum that their delivery service is bad. It really depends on individual. The price tag stated it was S$1K plus I think but cannot provide you the exact figure as we bought this together with other items in a package. :P

Warrior88..yes we actually thought of having a round table rather than rectangle. Actually the square space is quite small, if you enter either from the front entrance or to the bedrooms passageway will accidentally hit the chairs. Thus, we go for rectangle table instead. Will take note of the orientation. :D Thanks so much...

Hey,

My wife and I went to the exact same place and tried this very same bed! We lay down there for like half an hour and like the feel of it very much. The freebies are attractive as well and the Ottoman will add a hotel feel to your bedroom!

We liked Serta a lot but decided on Tempur instead cos my wife sometimes has a backache, Tempur maybe is the better choice. :)

S$120 per roll for normal wallpaper, shiny ones can cost about S$150 and above. Workmanship only S$300. Maximum 10 rolls and even you order less than 10 rolls, they still charge you the same workmanship cost.

You can look for Calvin from Europa Wallpaper. Very nice chap and he provides lots of tips on how you can deco your place. Do remember to bring your floorplan along. :)
