reuben82 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2010 OK. Finally, I come out my OWN....very first revision of my own floor plan using SmartDraw (a very good software...i must admit!) Detail Explanation: A: Dining table. At the wall, plan to put a full height mirror. Good idea? B: This one.....full height Cabinet!!!!!! Half height will be the shoe cabinets, while at the top, some are covered, some are see through open concept squarish cabinet. Not sure if you guys can catch what I mean....hahahaha....Too bad no photos around...Let me search around. C: This one actually is L shape bookshelf.....hehehehe D: OK. This one is the writing desk for 2. On top of it, there will be open concept bookshelf and at the side, might do some full height book shelf as well. Good? E: This one, not sure if "such thing" exist or not. TV console wall + Wardrobe combo. lol.....meaning something like the TV is mount on a door of the wardrobe and can slide around. Wondering this is practical or not...hahaha...but actually, this is the best orientation I can design for my MBR. F: Fridge. Nothing much. G: Washing machine. H: OK. For this one, I'm not sure want to do a "U" shape or just an invert "L" shape. any suggestions? I'm afraid it will be too crowded inside the kitchen. Any comments and suggestion are most welcome!!! reuben82 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2010 BTW, why I didn't hear anyone using PVC pipe? Any problem with that? hehehehe.....why not we just use PVC pipe as don't have corrosion issue and leakage i guess. Actually, I do plan to do conceal piping. I also scare the SS pipe will giving leakage issue. But then again copper will be corrode. Haih...pro and cons....always give and take....

marshmallow 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2010 Me using SS . So far so good . Only thing is it cannot be paint .... If not i will make it white and red to match my kitchen . phahaha May I ask... how come cannot paint SS pipes? My company got a lot of painted SS piping.... BTW, why I didn't hear anyone using PVC pipe? Any problem with that? hehehehe.....why not we just use PVC pipe as don't have corrosion issue and leakage i guess. NO PVC, **** noisy when water running thru it. That's why basically everyone changes their HDB given PVC pipe when they get their flat unless no budget, no choice. In my home now... Small dia pipes are SS and big dia pipes are PVC. Actually for big dia pipe, whether PVC or not, still will be noisy when water run through
reuben82 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2010 Why don't you swap your bedroom and your study room? So your study room + wardrobe + toilet in 1 room and your sleep area in 1 room. My wife die die want to have MBR with toilet. TO her, if the toilet is somewhere else....difficult. NO PVC, **** noisy when water running thru it. That's why basically everyone changes their HDB given PVC pipe when they get their flat unless no budget, no choice. Now I recall that every morning, can hear the water sound from the big PVC pipe....hahaha...guess that's the reason.....but if small diammeter, wondering if it will be alright. reuben82 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2010 OK. Another question coming up. Conceal piping and conceal electrical work. One of the ID mentioned that concealed piping/electric wire are "PROHIBITED" for HDB (he mean concealing those piping/wire on the wall or ceiling). Is this correct? Anyone doing conceal piping/electric wire? It is super ugly if you can see those thing flying around the ceiling or toilet wall....sigh....

Ok, here comes my comments. keke A: I would prefer to rotate the table 90deg to right and push the table all to the wall. In this way, pple dont need to squeeze into the corner seats. Make the mirror on the right side of wall. No point making it at your current place, as it will not broaden anything. B: I suggest u rotate the whole living area, means your tv and console on the back of shoe cabinet, like that u save some $$ by doing 2in1 concept. And when pple walk in, the 1st thing they saw is your sofa, not your tv. But to your own preference of coz. E: U cant mount tv on the sliding door, it cant take it. But if u fixed it on a fix panel, still can make it. Or either that u do a drop in, place your tv inside. If u need more storage, just extend the wardrobe to your toilet. H: I would think inverted L is suffice, unless u need more storage. U doing top down right? Edited April 22, 2010 by Angteko

Old flat cannot Even if conceal wire , u are limited to the location provide by HDB. Mean if u want to add another fan/lighting point , the additional point cannot be conceal - unless u doing a Lbox/F celling
