So far, none of quotation I receive asking for $240 for HDB permit.

I stand corrected. If you are doing some hacking of walls or something major likewise, I think the HDB needs an engineer/architect to sign on a request, so that is where the money goes to.

I did question my ID and his explanation was because I am changing the layout of my unit by hacking away some walls etc, need to submit the plan for HDB's approval with architect's recommendation. Hence, the charges were for architect's recommendation. This is what I gather, I may be "carroted" too.

I have the wall dividing my service yard and internal common corridor hacked off.

Need to pay $206/- directly to HDB when I went to submit the application with my contractor.

I think fee is charge on wet work or structural wrok or if it is a project where profit is high, the contractor absorb it.

It's not free, if so, there's no point for ID to state FOC

i considered whether to choose summit design studio (HDB registered company) or another reno company (not HDB registered company)
