Roughly how much would it cost for whole house rewiring? And how to determine whether a resale flat needs rewiring?

I will be rewiring whole house - 5 room HDB (Woodlands). Cost me $5600.

- New DB box

- New switches

- 2 heater point.

- 2 air con point.

- Downlight 25 point.

- 2 * Hanging Fan point.

- 5 * SCV point

and power point....

- All come with legrand switch, 1, 2 ,3, 4 mixed - I specially requested these!

How many days do the electrician takes to do up rewiring for the whole house? Will there be any power at certain points for the fridge or lights at night? I am asking on the scenario when the family has moved in and start the rewiring.

Depend on the amount of works to be done...range from 1-4days. Can ask them for some power points and lighting to be install first. This is no problem at all.

Replace all swtiches with MK brand. New DB box and relocate.

on a side note, how much just for air-con point?? Do I need 3 points for 3 bedrooms or just one will do? First time doing air-con point.. was told by some air-con sales-person that one point is 189.00 (contractor) + $$$ PUB inspection total would amount to some 300+.... Sure or not?? I was doubtful so I was hesitate to even buy the air-con from him.... Any pointers?

You'll typically need one air-cond point (for HDB) which is that isolator switch, which your condenser unit will be connected to. The rest of the blower units would just be cabled up to your condenser. I'm not so sure about the pricing though.
