vhardono 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) i like the cement grout with your marble mosaic.. Thanks at first contemplating to have white or cement grouting, but end up decided to use cement grouting reasoned white grouting can't really see it as mosaic anymore cos almost similar tone. However quite disappointed that the marble turn darker because it absorbs colour from cement grouting Edited April 28, 2010 by vhardono
vhardono 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Renowork Day +11 Kitchen carpentry delivered this morning but require extensive modification due to piping, beam and cornice. Scheduled for 3 working days to complete the carpentry, already almost halfway completed but unfortunately tomorrow is public holiday so the work can only be continued on Monday and Tuesday. The guy from solid top also came to do measurement and the top should be ready within 1 week. Painting has been done on Wednesday but need some touch up due to carpentry. vhardono 1 Report post Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) So far the reno progress has been very sluggish. Reno should be completed on yesterday but... for the past 9 days they only able to finish the cabinet installation and all sort of intolerable hi-cups from ID happen this week - first, right after cabinet installed they deliver the door with wrong laminate as requested. they never realized until I highlighted this matter to my ID and no choice have to send all doors back to factory to relaminate again - second, solid top surface came yesterday. the hob countertop is perfectly fine but island top, instead of 5cm edging they only make it as 4cm,so got no choice again to send back to redo again - third, there are numbers of misaligned holes inside kitchen cabinet and they do cover it up but looks a bit obvious any expert could enlighten me about the standard practice of carpenter in Singapore if they mistakenly drill a hole or misaligned the pipe? will they cover it up with another plywood or glued another laminate on top of it or re-laminate the whole thing. Below is the result to cover the wrong hole that they made. Is it acceptable? Partial laminate glued on top of the holes squarish plywood to cover misaligned piping hole Edited May 9, 2010 by vhardono
Mickey M 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2010 squarish plywood to cover misaligned piping hole I accepted this for my kitchen cabinet too. It is acceptable to me although I am unsure if this is the normal standard.

Amy Choon 1 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Hey, I love your new kitchen! I'm getting the tantem boxes for my kitchen too. But for the inner drawers, I realised the price cost 30 - 50% more. So I wonder now do I want a "whole piece" drawer look, or 3 separate pieces. did you get the orgaline?

So I wonder now do I want a "whole piece" drawer look, or 3 separate pieces. did you get the orgaline? yes,you are right.inner drawer cost about 30% more but looks neater and i think it's more sturdy for long term. FYI, Blum showroom always have promotional discounted orgaline item which is changing every month and I find it quite worth it (around 30%) Last month i bought the cutlery tray, and yesterday i bought knife holder as their current month promo. ngunadi 2 Report post Posted May 11, 2010 Nice ... do you think their cutlery holder can fit to non-blum rack? do you know what's the promo for this month?
vhardono 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) Nice ... do you think their cutlery holder can fit to non-blum rack? do you know what's the promo for this month? as long your inner drawer depth is more than 474mm,shouldn't be an issue to fit to non-blum rack but you need to make support to prevent the holder moving around inside the drawer the best is to change the drawer system with blum that cost around $50 then it will perfectly fit current month promo is knife holder with compatible utensil divider selling for $62 (after 30% discount) and plate holder which i couldn't recall the price last month was cutlery holder for $65 after discount Edited May 11, 2010 by vhardono

Left carpenter to do some minor adjustment to the drawer and painter to touch up the wall paint Normally, do you think ID will give FOC general cleaning? My ID already did acid wash but not sure whether acid wash = general cleaning or not Edited May 13, 2010 by vhardono
vhardono 1 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) My DIY Legrand Mallia Switch: 2 x 2 gang 20A Switch but one modified to 13A switch for countertop lamp and the rest for microwave, oven and hob with individual switch Do you have any experience with Legrand Mallia switch? I and my electrician find that 20A switch is very hard to switch unlike their normal switch. Edited May 13, 2010 by vhardono
