Different Floor Tiles In The Flat... Nice?

Been thinking to do some savings since hacking and tiling are big components in the reno cost, so really hope to hear some insights esp if any mates' house tiling are as such.

ideally, perfect scenario (and most expensive) would be -

hack off existing 300 x 300 tiles and replace with 6 x 6 throughout the living / dining / kitchen (open concept) and

laminate all 4 rooms

already a few agree in order to do some savings would be -

keep existing 300 x 300 tiles in the living / dining / kitchen (open concept) and

laminate all 4 rooms

am thinking

keep all the existing 300 x 300 tiles in the room

so my question to all forum mates is..

is my proposal weird / ugly? or actually it can be done and some did it tis way anywayz
