Build In Wardrobe Cabinet Enquiry

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Wondering, any did this before.

I bought a resale flat and 1 of the room come with build in wardrobe to the ceiling.

We want to keep the flooring as it still in good condition.

Is it possible to whack whack away the existing one w/o damage the floor and build one using back the area?

Hi, I have the same worry as therat. In my case, my floor is parquet. I wonder, after they hack away my built-in wardrobe, what is the floor beneath it? Is it some kind of raw cement ground or is it still parquet? Somehow I fear there won't be parquet on the floor where the built-in wardrobe used to be. Then I must spend $$$ to patch up the floor!

I don't wish to hack away without first making sure and then get slapped by a bunch of other problems. :o Hope someone can kindly advise! Thanks!

There is a good chance that the floor underneath the wardrobe is parquet.

However the parquet might be scratched/damaged/discolored.

Some repair works will have to be done.

A new wardrobe with the same layout as the old one can be installed to cover up the problem area.

Hi, I have the same worry as therat. In my case, my floor is parquet.

Wood works only comes in AFTER the floor is done. So definitely below is parquet.

Only worry is the parquet might be different colour from the outside, where the parquet is more seasoned, so u might find a lighter patch of colour inside. That will depend on how well the floor was taken care of, and also how old.
