Apacadl On Shoe String

Recommended Posts

Just made a deposit for my granite top for my bay windows, we are using black galaxy which my CFO likes. I have like 48foot of bay windows to cover and the shop we bought was the cheapest we can find. I am feeling broke. sigh. :~ :~

Anyway, we were near Geylang, we had decided to pop by A lighting Enterprise. The shop sells a cool number of led crystal lights, and so that it is cheaper that what lightings.com.sg selling too. We are kiv-ing this shop for our fan and crystal pendant lights. I still cannot forget the light i saw in Lights Advance which sells more designer style lights. But when practicality kicks in, I think I will get the cheaper options, so when change i not so sim tiah..... :P

Getting moi keys soon, i think by next week. Still waiting for the offical call, so now the clock really start ticking for me to get my act to gether to confirm the our designs.

Most of our furniture are customised or rather built when we buy the items. So effectively we can only get our items mid to end July. The only thing we had not customised, was our 1.25m kopitiam style dining table and chairs. We had it vanished in semi gloss black and we had added a bevelled 8mm glass on top of the table.

Dining Table (Imagine in 1.25m in black vanish with glass on top

6 Dining Chairs (Imagine in black vanish. the chair legs are straight instead of curved)

Dining lights, look at sammy's living room lights. We got the same pendant light.

My bed we are getting this King size bed in black vanish toowithout the skirting. It will be tapered straight down design. As our bed width is pretty big (193cm to 200cm) and the room is like only 320cm , there are not much space for much things but we would like to build more storage in the room to store our personal folders documents, makeup/facecare, etc.

CFO and I cannot be in agreement on the designs and now we are down to 3 designs we are still "fighing" out. Please help to provide comments.

Design A, the design which have 2 same height and width storage cum side table, but dunno will this look weird with the baywindow at the other side.

originalbedroom.jpg

Design B, the design my CFO likes where it has a deep depth but the space on the right side will be squeezed to walk width of 40cm to 45cm.

Please help!

wah~ must charge hosting fee for the pendant light. LOL

where is design C since u say 3 design? definitely not design A cos it makes the whole room very cramp wor.

my suggestion is to keep the room as simple as possible. are you sure u need so much storage? u hv a bomb shelter? cos u already did quite a fair bit of storage in living room and more everywhere would jus make the whole house look cluttered. IMHO.

maybe it's an indicative time to start throwing out unnecessary stuff? less storage = less unused/unneccessary items at home.

Bleah, I got the lights first anyway. :bleah:

Design 3 is similar to A except it is 1/2 height. So not much to talk about. My kitchen space is really small and some things will be pushed out into the living storage. I have a store room, but we are planning ahead. My CFO wants as much storage as possible. He had wanted storage of his own personal stuff in the room so we are planning for a smallish cupboard. You can't take a minimalist idea and force it to an uncle lah.. :P Maybe it would be back to sq 1 of just having 2 side tables similar design to the bed. :D

both design A and design B right hand side is very cramp ler. My own experiments telling me that minimum need 50cm space to walk comfortably else need to walk like a crab (depending your bodysize of course...heheheh). Best is 60cm actually. 1 tile size (600 x 600). As what Sam Jie mentioning, you need so much storage? Maybe you can consider those bedframe got hydraulic cylinder to lift up then you got huge storage space under your bed. Or change to queen size bed? Difference is around 40cm if I am not mistaken. But depending on which brand as well.

hey zelly, you mentioned most of your furniture are custom made. where do you go to do this? any contacts for natural wood dining table?

I custom made my furniture using teak wood, as I would want them to be in certain size. My dining set is from Pagoda Teak, 1 piece of 1.25m round wood top table kopitam legs, 6 teak chairs + 8mm beveled edge glass about $1350. Different designs have different cost. They also have the rough finished tables for outdoor which is much cheaper. Best is to check with them on what you wan
