Tiring And Tedious

Recommended Posts

hi Adah, he told me what happend to ur false ceiling.. ;)

ID is reponsive and willing to replace some of the items but i am upset by this comment he made "people say we have good workmanship.. when people see workmanship, they only see carpentary skills , tiling skills etc. No oNe will notice if the tiles got scratches or not".

for chipped tiled, he mentioned its cut manually by tiler so will chip. I agree with him partially only. Chipped is also the joints chipped and not the surface right?

told him to touch up if he dont want to change the chipped tiles.

When the flooring guys made that comment, I guess my laminated floor must be one of the worst they have seen.

Maybe because he gave too much discount that its eating into his profit.. haha

Anyway, I just want the whole episode to be over. Maybe will spend $$ to look for better contractor to touch up for me or DIY.

No if your tiles are chipped they can use hand chippng to take out the tiles and replace. If your cup laminates are damaged they can relaminate the whole thing. And if the tiler uses the machine they have to cut it will not chipped after drying it will be CRACKING effect not chipped corners.U see if u call a tiler on your own he charges u labour and transport so why pay again??And for first wash u should not use bleach as it removes the shine.

After 2 weeks of delay and recitfication work, we manage to salvage certain items.

It seems like one rectification done, another item damaged. Will be talking to my ID this week on the balance outstanding item and halt all futher work on my house.

Here's the final review of the the whole reno process.

ID (Kevin from Ideal House)

Pure Crap

Contractor working on my house

Tiling - 7/10. Could have scored better if not for those chipped tiles. Should have recut the tiles rather than using it.

Electrical - 8/10. Most of the items are done nicely except for crooked socket

Capentary - 6/10. Scratches all over the laminates and very poor laminates joint lines

Glass contractor - 1/10. Rough handling of my carpentary. Wrong measurement taken for at least 3 times for my different glass work

Painted - 2/10. Paint peel off before i move in. What more can i say?

Overall experience - 5.7/10 Barely passed. Duing the whole reno process, I've always tried to look after my ID's pocket.

I have ask countless time if he got earn from this item or that item. Still , the whole house came out with so many defects. :D

I guess its about managing expectation. Will I recommend the ID ? NO!!!!!!

His team of contractor? - NO!!

Can't wait for my Brandt demo session . :)
