curryqueen 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2010 (edited) Hi, I will get my place only in middle of the year, but was wondering if it is feasible to do the laminate flooring last after all the paint work and reno is over? Reason is that I know what colors I want for my walls, but I still can't decide on the color of the floor yet. Was thinking of seeing how the place looks with the flat painted first before deciding. Since laminate flring is only sticking the laminate over current flr tiles and won't require hacking, I am hoping that it shouldn't be any problem. Am I missing anything? Normally laminate work will start after painting, to prevent accidently staining the laminate. If you want to laminate only after everything is completed, it should be fine if you don't need the floor to be laminated under any carpentry work. This will also help prevent any damage to them during the reno process. P.S. You should find out from your contractor/ID if he needs to 'level' the floor first before laying the laminate.
