Kitchen wall tiles partially up

I never imagined the tile trim they use for the edges to be so FAT

i think they blowing wind. for those who din inform GC got false ceiling also do trunking liao then do false ceiling mah. wat's the diff? still got to run the trunking mah....means what? if no false ceiling then going to leave it exposed like this?

i said the same thing to him. he reply "oh if u no Lbox, i am going to run your trunking straight across the wall, I wont make the trunking go up to the ceiling for u. If u want the pipes to go up to the ceiling then i wont put trunking for u."

Surely I am not the only person in renotalk that have gaincity do aircon pipes above Lbox and false ceiling, anyone else can share their experience?

UPDATE 19 June: Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done.

yeap i also curious why put trunking liao they dun want to give warranty.

trunking got wat issue? they scared u drill the trunking meh..

they say to put the trunking in livign room means that they need to make more 90degree bends in the copper pipe, which may result in aircon not cold. sounds logical rite? but is it really?

But but but then hor, already before this exposed section and after this exposed section, is all trunking and 90degree bends also ma, so they r in a way slapping own face. why can have 90 degree bends in other rooms? but living room becos got Lbox to hide their pipes so suddenly uturn and say cannot have 90 degree bends so no trunking?

Also, trunking is who fix one? they fix one rite? got law that says trunking must be horizontal to floor? trunking can also run at any angle right? so u see how the pipes run in the picture? they cannot connect several sections of trunking to make it follow the pipes meh? then pipes wont have 90degree bends also mah

for ur pipes, i aso prefer white cos I've seen some paint green and over the years it jus look hideous.

for the aircon piping in the living room. it really looks ugly lor. u sure no trunking ah, wan to call GC office check? I cannot understand why cannot. later leak they pay ah?

depends on whether you want the pipes to stand out.

paint white = more background feel, not obvious

paint green/tree = make the pipe a feature in the toilet.

personally i think paint white better becos your tiles are nice, make ur tiles stand out instead.

Yes, currently the unpainted pipe is already white, so I can visualize it as white. Cant visualize how it will look with green or other colours. Maybe later I can photoshop and see how it will look.

Hi folks, gimme some ideas. Iam thinking of painting the toilet pipes to make it look nice.

brainstorming,

1) paint it green to match the green tiles

2) paint it white to match the white tiles

3) paint it green & white combo to match the green/white tiles

4) paint it to look like a tree, brown tree trunk, green leaves on top

depends on whether you want the pipes to stand out.

U can see here how GainCity run the aircon pipes across the living room.

These pipes will be in the Lbox, so the Gain City installers says "NO TRUNKING, NO EXCEPTION, NOT NEGOTIABLE, or else, NO WARRANTY"

Thanks dbkungfu, that is a great tip, I will ask the installers to do that.

The gain city installer not good one leh, they flatly refuse to put trunking to the gas pipes that is above the Lbox, saying is SOP and they wont do trunking and if i insist they wont warranty. So the black armaflex insulator with pipes above my Lbox is expose one, no trunking.

thnx, wanna to post bigger photo ... but worry loading time will take long time. Ok will do it when near finish.

About gain city, my buddy mentioned depend of which "batch" on worker doing the work. Some very nice one. anyway, luckily mine is done by my babysitter hb, but due to weird ceiling beam here & there, my trunking looks not good also, so have to choose the shortest path. I always wonder why consumer have to most of the time, good quality servicing is still way below in sg

Mine piping is also behind my MBR wardrobe ... foresee there will be problem if need servicing, but no other choice for me. anyway, if this is the only option u have, just minimize the connecting/joint pipe part around that area, As that is one of the high possible leakage area (water etc). Hope gain city contractor will entertain u on this request

today will be the day Gain City comes to lay the pipes. I was thinking of running some pipes (mostly drainage) behind the builtin wardrobes to hide it.

Anyone who has done this can share the experience? How to design the wardrobes such that can still check and service the pipes?
