Less Walls More Space

Recommended Posts

Just bought a 5 room-unit with the intention of taking down the kitchen wall and one of the bedroom wall to make the living area bigger. Will be doing an open concept kitchen. After doing that, I will be left with one common room and MBR, but a large living room cum study/cosy corner.

My thoughts were since there are only my wife and me living in this unit, less walls the better. at least we get to see each other when we are doing our own things. I like big space too and minimum furniture to make cleaning an easy task.

Spoken to two to three IDs, they told me that not many people do that becoz the value of the unit will depreciate. Is that true?

Thanks Jaskel. Those IDs told me that not everyone can appreciate my layout. So effectively, I am cutting away a big chunk of prospective buyers next time.

Well any person will choose a wider space. The above comments is right. The value is still there but it will be hard for you to sell this but if you have a good marketing strategy and you know how to talk in nice way, I think you can sell this.
