u can go look up straits times classified. sometimes they hv adverts for commercial equipment...2nd hand as well...though i rmb seeing a old old equipment shop along the stretch opp Singapore Casket....

Sammie jie, u sure u didnt mistaken that as a casket?? keke :notti:

hey ang, the "super classic stove" isn't the one i'm looking for la! that's a cheaper cousin to the commercial stove i want. i don't like standing fan..so have to try to get ceiling fan. actually i don't want ceiling light either, but hb insists... :(

direct from distributor = $$$! yea the cost of maintenance might be an issue. heard from my cousin who's a chef that this stove cannot be used in domestic premises because of the lower gas pressure. tried contacting citygas, they ask me to check with supplier. i checked with the local distributor for Viking (which is the brand of the stove in the pic) and they say theirs is semi-commercial so shouldn't be a prob. *crosses fingers* but their viking range costs $9k. :jawdrop:

yep i know sometimes the classifieds have restaurants closing down and trying to clear their equipment. long time never look at classifieds liao. must have a look this weekend. thanks anyway!

My ceiling fan upz already, and it is not those short type one. With my hands all stretched out, my fingers can actually hit the fan. So will feel quite insecure, esp me and my wife are quite tall. But those short type one, usually only come with 3 flaps, which I have concern for their power.

Brother Angteko,

It's either you are too tall or the ceiling is too low or the rod that holds the fan is too long if you know what I mean. Is there a way to go around it now that there exists a potential hazard in the ceiling fan?

Sis fiend,

I suggest that you go for new instead of second hand for peace of mind. Unless it comes with some kind of warranty, otherwise it is just another form of hazard-fire maybe. I could be wrong.

Haha, everything is standard length loh, including my hand and legs. haha

Actually can cut short that rod, but there is a risk in doing that if the guy doesnt know how to handle it.

Anyway, it's better than I'm expected, I was think it my hit my palm, but now its only touching my finger tips. :D

Weekday Hunting

5) Asia Excel - Last stop of the night. Perhaps its was late, but the guy (Desmond) came across as curt and uninterested. Won't be getting anything from here.

alamak...sorry to hear of ur unpleasant experience with Desmond. I think it was just that. Late night and he probably had a hard day? On the contrary, i find him one of the best salesperson i came across during my splurging sessions.. :good:

Always managed to squeeze so much discount from him that i think he's worried abt his job..

had been there like 5 times and even if i tell myself its a quick one, me and wife end up talking cock with him for 2 to 3 hrs... :thumbs up:

Try GR Link also...Benny and wife are also nice...he even remembered that he owed me his physician's contact for my cough after a week and reminded me to drop by the fella place for a check up...good after sales i must add.. :good:

wow, been a while since i last posted here..busy preparing for customary wedding, finally got it over and done last weekend!

Our 2nd appointment is this Wednesday - finally! We still haven't confirmed our contractor yet. Now down to just two..hoping to sort this out by Wednesday.

I've given up on the commercial stove..too much hassle to find one within my budget. Sigh..

Hm.. 2nd appointment liao, must be very kan jong liao. Better be abit late in confirming than later cause problems ah. :D

I think most stove after awhile u will adapt to it, so it doesn't really matter. Most impt is the skills of the cook. :P

hey zelly, thanks!

actually we sort of not so kan cheong anymore..used to be quite kan cheong but as the weeks passed, the kancheong-ness has morphed into anticipation more than anything! :) maybe cos we've already gotten the keys (unofficially of course) and already see the house until can memorize all the beams and electrical points..lol.

i'm quite a laoya cook, my hb is a better cook than me..hahaha..the commercial stove was meant to "encourage" me to improve my cooking skills. my hb's grand aunt promised to come and teach me her nonya recipes.. :D hopefully i'll learn something...
