Hi ce5260,

You can email me about your interior enquiry, I can recommend you my hubby who is a interior designer.

I will email you some of his work. No obligation. What type of house you are renovating? What is the size?

Don charges design consultant fees and there is no hidden cost and it's a fixed price. So no worries.

My email: fincoong@gmail.com

Sent you an email.

i agree. so choose the average priced and someone who you are comfortable with. end of the day, home owners only want somebody who is responsible enough to settle problems when problems arises. put it this way, they earn money of cox they need to do what they are supposed to do ma.

JMHO

hey people...

whichever contractor or id u are consider using, do not use GEK JIN contractor in serangoon!

i had juz bought my resale 4 room flat and after talking to 6 contractors, i decided to use them coz the sales lady is a nice lady and the price is consider reasonable. Before starting work, i had advised her that i have a tenant which needs to move in after the 3rd week and she did compromised saying that at least a room and toilet will be ready by then.

Begining of the job was alright, they were pretty fast in hacking the kitchen, toilets' walls & tiles. My living room and bedrooms tiles were overlaid, so it was pretty fast. after this process, every is slow slow slow and very bad poor quality. their subcontractors began to take their own sweet time in doing the work, do not come in on the weekends, the sales lady was on leave and the so called assisting person in charge didnt know anything. our walls are like dog bitten right now, holes in the wall, paint had come off but they are not doing anything right now abt it while i am typing this. the sales lady kept teling me by week forth (this week), it will be completed.

i have so many questions that i had asked but got really funny answers. their solutions: 1. wash the floor first. 2. fill up the holes in the walls. 3. paint the house. 4. fix my both toilets' shower screens and 1 door. why would u want to wash the floor first where the rest of the stuffs are not done? if so, the floors will still be dirty after they completed the jobs. her answer, i will wash the floor personally for u then. huh? what is going on?

at this point of time, i do not even want to go into my house coz is really nonsense. on top of it, i am paying for my tenant to stay in hotel coz they cant get our place ready. best thing of it, when i went to check the house after work, i realised that the fan and bedroom lights are on and the windows are not closed though there are no one in the house.

we are thinking right now, should we go to case and complain them? terminate their services and get other contractors to continue the job? moving into a new house is supposed to be a joyful event but getting a **** contractor is real ****... my advice, please do not be like me, conned by appearance and nice attitude and price. do go for contractors that ur friends or family had used and strongly recommended.

Anyone using the below? Can PM me some honest feedback?

1) CJ ambience

2) Homely Image

3) Inspiration living

4) Rest n Relax

Really appreciate if.. <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

i'm new so this might no longer be useful but i feel compelled to reply. i've had a bad experience with inspiration living. if you want a cookie cutter home then by all means go with them, otherwise they seem sorely lacking in imagination or drive. i suspect strongly the 3d drawings they provide are almost always recycled. even after i commented, they persisted in providing dishonest drawings.

if an ID is supposed to conceptualize and design your house, that includes choice of tiles, lighting and bathroom fixtures no? inspiration living sent us searching for the aforementioned all by ourselves with no regards or consideration to the overall thematic appearance of the house. in retrospect, they never did propose a wholesome theme.

you'd be better off with a contractor...

I'm new here and but have been reading and learning from everyone so I figured it's my time to contribute and give back to fellow forumers. After reading lots about the good and bad contractors/ID's out there, I feel I have to put forward Vincent from Chiam Soon Seng that was recommended to me by 3 different friends. They all used the same contractor and all referred him to me. Now that I'm about 75% through the renovation process, I can see why. In the beginning, I did the usual 'shopping around' and asked for 5 quotes from different companies (tiring since some didn't even respond after I chased them several times). As suggested by some postings, I did an 'apples to apples' comparison and found out that not only is Vincent's worksmanship commended by my friends, his price was also the most reasonable! I had decided on the style and design so I only needed the contractor services. On top of the pricing though, the thing I liked most about the process is that they are flexible and very, very patient - very important for a first time home-owner like me who doesn't know as much as she thinks!

Timelines have been kept and budgets respected which is, from what I've been told, not very common in the industry. Not only is Vincent's service and attitude fantastic (he always picks up his phone or calls you back right away - even I don't do that) but all his sub-contractors are friendly, timely and professional. I am always hounding the renovations but they work and work and I see big changes at the end of each day.

I have yet to see the carpentry, which Vincent tells me is his company's specialty. I'll keep you guys posted as I go and add some pictures soon.

PM me if you need his details. (I don't work with or for the company. I'm just a happy customer who believes in good service.)

Hi, I'm getting my new flat in Punggol soon and wish to do up the entire home..

I feel word-of-mouth and getting referred by clients of good IDs/Contractors will be a good start to get some quotations. Anyone here who feels your ID/contractor did a good job and deserves your recommendation? Can refer him to me? If there is a blog/photos to back-up, it will make the recommendation very much stronger than just mere words.

Appreciated~

whatever it is do not ever sign up with Jeffrey Tan & associates.

based on a very bad personal experience. This company will not bother to take on your project if it isnt above 30K and he will act like a big shot like his designs are very good.

the IDs they hire are the guy's wife and some other auntie who probably doesnt have any certification in ID.

and he will leave you waiting more than a month just for a quotation.

Hello, I am renovating my whole house and so far my ID Ms Felicia from NW has not disappoint me in terms of design and services especially keeping to my very tight timeline. I will try to post my Reno progress in this blog to share next week.
