Umaisarah 2 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 Wah, u got so much done already! Very impressed Your place is somewhere in the West, right? Cuz I thot I saw a view of the sea from your Master Bedroom? Very nice.... Really like your nice, airy kitchen. Mine is teensy, winsy, but becuz it's glossy white, it doesn't look too cramp. Can't wait to see all your carpentry once it's done. My ID says mine will be ready by end next week. When are you doing your bamboo deck? I'm doing mine next week. Kent came down yest to do final measurement. If I'd known you had contacted him alr, I wld hv asked him to give me further discount You have many things crossed out already from your to-do list. Mine just keeps on growing
Umaisarah 2 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 Finally found the camera cable, so some pre-reno pics! Guest bathroom showerhead.... the water pressure not very impressive! Hvn't tried at my place yet, so dunno how's the water pressure like. We have a rainshower set at our current place and love it so much that we're going to install one at our new place, but only for the master bathroom. My DH has already figured out how to install it, so hopefully we won't get the house flooded when the time comes to fix it!
Umaisarah 2 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 Life changes means I have to do reno again (2 years after I did the last one!) Been reading renotalk for ages and have found so many ideas from everyone one here.. hope for suggestions! Here's the floor plan....(taken from a property site website, will only get the key to the apartment on the 22nd) Was just looking at your floor plan again and noticed that the balcony at the back seems to be accessible from the master bedroom, via the WIW. Is this so? Isn't this 'dangerous', ie someone might mistakenly walk in to your bedroom while you're changing???? and do u hv a door to the master bathroom? patsy_sg 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 am already considering it's slow since I got my keys 22nd of March! will try to go over again later if I feel better (got suspected dengue!!) and take more pics, think the bulk of the carpentry will be done today/tomorrow. The kitchen is really tiny, just two walls facing each other, that's why I had to extend the wet kitchen into the yard in the back, which kinda works out too so the heavy cooking will be outside and the smells won't get into the living area yeah, called styleline but someone named Tiffany came to do the measurements. Was scared to use bamboo at first but it's much more environmentally friendly than teak or chengai so decided to use it anyway. my fiancee is calling me crazy but the one thing I'm looking forward to is unpacking! haha

Cool! Can hang a mirror or put some shelving at the covered wall in the MBR. Are you going to put a curtain or anything to separate the WIW and the bed room? Your MBR looks pretty big. My yard after putting washing machine and dryer and some shelving, I think i can only put a charcoal stove! . Mom said it is very impt to have a charcoal stove, so we have to get 1, and need to find ways to make use of it. I do not like rainshower but my hubby loves it, so we have to get one with both and we can change according to the person using it.

You can try to use this to have a better presure.

I was thinking of buying those howard store shelving and can diy adding or subtracting the shelves, esp each shelf can take up to 100kg. I just hope my kitchen is big inuff or else i wil have to get more storage for my pots and pans in the yard. I need my space in kitchen or else i can cook till i very fustrated and stomp out of kitchen..

FC83 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 hmmmm... tempting! but will it be a hassle to find carpenters, electricians?? It wont be hassle to find any trade. Just that you have to prepare for any necessary coordination work and negotiate with them on the cost. cost and quality of work may be the only concern.
