WEEK 5

for week 4-5 nothing major happen... but alot of small items being added.. Monday - tuesday Hong Tar people came to route the trunking , up the 2nd compressor bracket and remove the old compressor.. i have posted abt it in the earlier post. Elmark people swing by on wed to put up the 2 fan bracket. Also, this week we took delivery of our lights from Lightings.com.sg and our toiletry from Song Cho . Both company delivered on time and correctly. With the lights delivered and the fan bracket installed it allows my false ceiling to go ahead in week 6. :)

This week also seen our Basin/Shower mixers/Hand spray and our Joven Heater been installed. All done nicely. The rewiring (electrical) of the whole house is also done. Very nice indeed.

Farther citigas people came by to run the gas pipe for Dryer and Hod. Nicely done too.. :)

Sadly the 2 toilet bowls delivered to us last week was found leaking. But Heritage's responds was fast. They got the manufacturer to contact me the very next day and a date was set to replace the leaky ones. (Friday found the leak, Sat confirmed that they will come by on coming monday to replace it.)

Oh.. Also done was our KDK toilet ventilation fans by Central Aluminum( Jasmine@ 63683313). It cost us $550. For the common toilet the originally its a full piece window. This was change to a 2 panel window 1 with the fan the other with a top mount folding window. The MBR was already 2 panel thus one 1 side was remove to attach the fan. All in all.. thanks to renotalk again (found this company from this forum) we got what we wanted done. And done nicely too. Do note that $550 includes Central Aluminum applying HDB permit for the installation.

Enff talk.. here is some photos for your viewing pleasure. :)

Our MBR toilet looks like a mirror image expect the wall colors.

P4090603.jpg

a close up of the basin. The height of the basin was recommended by Henry's plumber. Initially we wanted it mounted a bit lower. Looks like he is right.. it does looks nicer. lol

A shot of our leaky toilet bowl. Waiting for monday to get them replaced.

P4090620.jpg

Our DB box. just next to our main door. Sadly cant be mounted higher. becos of the false ceiling.

P4090619.jpg

Our water pipe and if u notice a white piping. That is for the open net people to pull the fiber optics in. I told the electrician that i need a entrance for the open net and he drill an opening to the openet riser box just outside our house lol.

Notice the white pipe. Thats done by the electrician. lol not sure if its legal or not.

this is the Elmark fan bracket. 1 in the dining and 1 in the living.

A view of our kitchen.

Ah.. an interesting note.. we got the electrician to lay the lan cables thur out the house for us. (Cat6) we have 2 lines from kitchen to our MBR ( this is for the open net as its the shortest path from the opening to the kitchen. Thus reducing chance of the open net guys to screw up my false ceiling.) And 2 lines is for redundancy. From the MBR we have 2 lines to the study, 2 to the living room TV area and 1 to our baby's room. All in all he charge us 150 for the labor. Ex or not.. i am not sure. but all the trunking is nicely laid.

Sorry if i seems to be constantly praising Henry. Renowise i have done it once b4 this. And so far it have been a good experience compared to my last. And I guess we are easy to please. :P

Till next week! peace!

Supp... sorry for the late post. Its a really busy week for us... :D i am just abt to up load some pics for week 4.. nothing much.. but plastering.. its pretty well done imo.

For the Air con.. i went will HONG TAR. The sales lady (Katrine (sp?)) was very patient and pretty knowledgeable. Even the crew (2 man team) that she send to do our trunking impressed us. They are punctual (the fact that on the 1st day, they are suppose to come at 11.30. But at 10.30 we received a call from katrine and informed us that they are being held up at another site..and will arrive at 12.30, Which promptly they did), very effective and efficient. Once they arrived.. they started to go thur with us.. where be our blowers be , solving our trunking routes etc. Thur out the process they are very patient with us and listening to ours air con needs. And their advice helps us heaps too.

We have 6 blowers and 2 compressor that need to be routed. And within 30mins the routes are all planned and agreed ... and immediately they went to work. By 5ish they have already setup the 2nd compressor mounting and routed all trunking with 50% of coolant cabling done. Which they say they will be back the following day to finish up. This (2 day trunking installation and 1 day blowers/compressors installation) was already told to us by Katrine during the sales phase.

I will post up some pics and also a short review on Impress 21. :)

Hi,

Can I ask whether your aircon contractors submit any approvals for installing two compressors? I will moving in to Pasir ris too and will be having 6 blowers like yours. Worried we will face difficulities when installing two compressors.

Hi there! 1st u can check if ur block is already on an upgraded Electrical Loading.. go to this webby and punch in ur postal code..

https://www.hdb.gov.sg/bn25/isos119p.nsf/Search?OpenForm

If yes.. Great! u can fit 2 compressors. If no.. i believe you still can call the Pasir Ris HDB branch office for help (i might be wrong here) .

As for approvals.. Hong Tar only submit 1 Compressor for approval. Due to the fact that we already have a existing Air Con Ledge. So we only need to install a new air con bracket in the next bedroom ( this is the one that need to submit installation report, done by Hong Tar ).

If u are worried b4 u check for webby.. just go to your block and look if any of your neighbors have 2 compressor outside their units.. if u seen 1 have it.. 99% u can have 2 compressor. But for best result just call the Pasir Ris Branch office.. they will give u a firm yes or no answer.. so at least u will feel more assured.

good luck!

Yeah like pasir ris's open areas and the fact that the beach is nearby. My reno started later than yours, so about 2 weeks behind. So far so good, some minor issues which he says it's not problem rectifying. Looking at the progress of ur place gives me some comfort at least. Haha.

Ours too. Minor issues... nothing that he cant rectify. well.. glad to hear that your reno is going smooth as well.. we would say henry is pretty good with his time management. Like you it start to slow down now..as we are in the last phase. Mainly carpentry and glass works as major jobs left.

Actually we are pretty surprise that we didnt need to push him at all.. my last reno was a nightmare. lol As both me and wifey is bz working we only have time to check the works on sat and sun , it works out good.

Your unit is pretty near the pond right? i guess like us.. u are pretty hype up with the up coming sport complex. Swimming pools and all.. cant wait. :P

I'm waiting for carpentry also. Heh. Glass doors and some false ceilings are up already though. We also usually check out the place probably only once or twice a week. Past 2 weeks hubby is in reservist :( But at least Henry was contactable by phone.

My unit is smack in the middle between the pond and downtown east. Hubby doesn't fancy the pond smell too much he says. Yeah I can't wait for the sports complex and new facilities to be up :P Now can only jog once in a while around the park. Haha.

Downtown east pretty happening le .. went there a few weeks back to walk walk.. pretty pack i would say.. the cinema is pretty good too.

U jog huh? then the sport complex will suit u just fine. I am more a cycling person.
