meepok 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Why this thread always like to ask people to be a jagar ah? Last time dunring reno caliwen say must keep a look out for things , sit outside of the house and scare things kanna stolen. After reno, move in today must watch out and keep the neighbourhood... be it the sky gardens, the lift lobbies or carpark safe? Hi TPY, I'm not asking for everyone to be a jagar to part-time policeman... don't get me wrong... after all it's our home and neighbourhood. We can't always depend on those keystone cops to safe keep the peace and uphold the law.... sometimes, when we see something unjust or wrong, we have to make certain decisions & choices which may be out of our comfort zone. Maybe we're so accustomed to having the higher authorities tell us what to do for so many years, that at times without their instructions & campaigns, we're like lost sheeps. An example... when one's common corridor is extremely dusty with discarded items for the past few days... do u wait for the TC people to come and clean up the mess by waiting for a few more days? Or do you call up the TC and chase them to come clean up asap? Or maybe for a change, you could even clean up the mess if it's of a manageable scope? It's every individual 79ers' initiative at the end of the day... to make the living environment a safer and better place for our families.

LOL The SPF is under Wong Kan Seng's MHA, which was also involved with the recent escaped limping terrorist. We pay expensive golden peanuts, still get lousy complacent monkey! I rest my case. shivan 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Hi! Want to ask a question regarding Window grills. How many of you did window grills that are fixed as in cannot open non sliding type and how many did sliding window grills? The reason is if I were to make the window grills that can slide, because of the tracks, the whole window grill will protrude out by quite a bit and makes the whole window look so ugly. I've seen some of your grills but can't remember who. Some are thin and nice but at that point in time, I didn't check whether was it fixed type or sliding type. I remember Alister's was quite nice but not sure whether is it fixed or sliding?

No one. but the security in new blks is really unsafe even though thhe police station is juat beside the blk. Good day to u. Hi Tension, Yes. Security indeed is very much lacking in our neighbourhood. So far, doorbells have been stolen, flats broken into, shoes stolen, cars broken into, etc. The sky garden school kids ruckus seems minor by comparison. So much for being just next to the NPC! I did not mean for forummers to take time off and do guard duty or foot patrol around the neighbourhood... just need to be more alert to things happening around oneself... and call in the relevant authorities should one spot suspicious characters or crime in action. Look out, help and advise one another like how we did for our reno process... that's all. Civic mindedness doesn't take much effort. Hi Shivan, based on my own experience which I did a fixed wrought iron window grilles for my old place, I have a very difficult time cleaning the windows, as my hand\arms keep knocking on the grilles, after which i will have blue black. So now my window grilles is sliding type.. Just my 5 cents

I think not advisable to use fixed ones as u might need to access the glass windows in future to clean. Who knows, the govt will force us to change rivets again ?
