euph0bear 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2008 Liverpool fan here too! Tonight they shall once again conquer Chelsea! Once question here. I'm moving into Blk 79 this coming Sunday. Checked out a few movers and was quoted between 200 - 300 for the minor moving (mainly 1 fridge, 1 washing machine, 3 queensize mattresses and other misc stuff in boxes). One company did said that if mattress cannot fit into lift and need to use the stairs, it would cost an extra 10 per flight of stair?! What is the norm for charging movers? Anyone can confirm this and any other things I should look out for?

Zincy 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2008 Hi Friendly Neighbours! Thanks so much for all your kind advise.. will go light scouting this weekend, will update soon! By the way, we have finally got back our $300 deposit after a long and tough struggle.. *Whew!* Now praying hard that the cheque wont bounce! Hi Ryuki, Just bring along your designed floor plan during your light scouting, some shops provide advise what type of lightings to use at which area, they are the real experts Kiddo to you for getting back your deposit. *cold sweat* Cheers. I actually don't mind about it as long as it is not infront of my door. Don't wish to place anything in front but I think I have no choice now. Just pray hard, that the plants don't actually "attract" mosquitoes and "house" their breeding ground. My level actually have neighbours' plants at the rubbish chute area. For the outdoor units, need to install/run extra power point or not ah? I know that switch at the aircon ledge is rated 20amp, but not sure if can share for both units. Anyone can share their experience?

She paid extra S$150 to install another 20A aircon isolator point for the 2nd unit. Hope that helps Hey 79 neighbours, happy May Day! Question, anyone installed 2 air-con systems in their house? jaCKY777 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2008 One company did said that if mattress cannot fit into lift and need to use the stairs, it would cost an extra 10 per flight of stair?! What is the norm for charging movers? Fyi, i ever saw movers squeeze in a king/queen size bed in2 e lift. Dat means dey gota bend e mattress a bit for e short lift trip. There r 2 flights of stairs frm 1 lev 2 another. If u stay 10th sty, & movers charge $10/flight of stairs, then e extra amount may work out 2b -> $10 x 2 flights of stairs x 10 sty = $200. It may seem kinda ex but its not ez job. If 1 can ndure e bending of e mattress during e short lift transportation period, then no probm liao.
