Oh no, we have been suckered! We paid $18 for each hinge. What a rip-off!

I guess u win some, u lose some. This Mr Lim came around on a Sat afternoon asking if we want to change the hinge and after seeing his demo, we agreed. Didn't know that there was another fellow doing it as well.

Ya, it is a hex screw, but I saw the weld and it looked ok to me.

For the info of those who have not changed, the hinges are made of mild steel, which is a soft steel and easily removed. Replace with a steel hinge for better security. I would definitely recommend changing, especially with lots of stuff in our house...

Just want to say I have been quite happy with my contractor Zhi Seng, they are very flexible with design changes and price is moderate, so if you are still shopping for renovation contractors, try http://www.zhiseng.com.sg/

Would love an open house, but only moving in end of the month.
