Yel 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2008 May I know where u get the storage heater from? Any brand to recommend? What's the price range for such storage heater? So each bathroom will get individual storage heater? How do we go about fixing the pipe for storage heater installation?Sorry for my long list of questions as I know buts about such stuffHi Toppie, there is a few brands on the market. I think most of the ppl in blk 79 kakis took either joven or ariston. I think you can check out those shop that sells bathroom accessories or those small shop that sells electrical stuff. I bought Joven 35L for $288. installation is $80. I think the price is on the high side. I bought it from the shop ALP (near KFC). I did check out the price from Tai Sin and it is around $250 installation is around $120 but the sales person at Tai sin refuse to commit the installation price. After comparing it doesn't seem to be any diff so we bought from ALP as we have bought things from them before. From my limited knowledge...Instant Heater should be installed in the bathroom and limited for showering only. The tap in the bathroom won't have hot water. The rest of the house will have cold water. Whereas Gas Heater / Storage heater installed in the kitchen. The whole house will have hot water even the bathroom tap or kitchen tap. We have select a kitchen sink tap that have hot/cold water like the ones given by hdb for the bathroom. my mum like it coz after bathing she can use the remaining hot water in the storage heater to wash oily utensils. toppie 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 juz to add on...we got a storage heater and cld be installed in the common bathrm...so you might want to consider installing in the kitchen or common bathrmI just need a storage heater for my bathroom. Went to a shop at Geylang yesterday and the sales person told me 15l is good enough. We end up buying an ariston 15l for $200. The 30l cost $220. But I find it abit bulky. Just want some views. Is 15l good enough for just bathrooms? How do we install the storage heater in the bathroom? Need any hacking? If placed in one bathroom should be able to use for another? Just drill and screw onto the ceiling or wall.Yes, installtion in one bathroom will also provide hot water to the other bathroom as the hot water pipes are linked. Need to do for the whole house (MBR, 2 x bedrooms, 2 x living room, kitchen). Do we have to follow the standard designs given by hdb in the pamphlet?
gadgetman 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 I'm putting in my submission on monday, hopefully it will take as fast. Going to hack away a small wall in BR2 to do a walk in wardrobe. The MBR is too ridiculously small to have any decent walking space after putting in a wardrobe.Hi Chocofudge, We actually had a similar idea last time - just hack of part of the BR2 wall along the MBR walkway and build a wardrobe there. However, HDB had replied to say that we have to remove the whole wall and the supporting lintols, this meant that my MBR and BR2 door frames would have to go as well. We finally scrapped the plan as our renovation progress was already too advanced by the time of notification to have any major hacking done. In the end we settled for a L-shape wardrobe to be built in BR2 (study) instead without any hacking. But because we saved some money on the hacking and reconstruction, we asked for better quality wardrobe to be built to our specification in BR2 instead - as a form of consolation some what. Do let me know if HDB approves of your hacking approval. it seems like many neighbors got their approval easily. I really like to know if HDB had been fair to me

For me, I moved a mattress, study table, 2 cupboards and 30boxes - $150 (without boxes). But there were some scratches to my cupboards alto has already wrap with plastic. Ok for me as those cupboards already has scratches anyway. He does provide boxes. S_Pear used him before and is please with his service.
