Is there anything to note when shopping for wooden rod?

The reason for this qns is bcos over last weekend, we went 3 place to research on the rod and realise price varies alot.

1) Giant @ IMM, 7ft rod alone w/o accessories - $27.99

2) Spotlight @ Plaza Sing, 7ft rod w/ accessories - $74.90

3) Gek Poh Hardware Shop, 7ft rod w/ accessories - $17.00

Pls advice and recommend.

Thx..

I got mine at a curtain shops in JooChiat .. called Mong Li curtains..

5 ft x 1

They do come with wall mounted bracket but i changed mine to ceiling mounted bracket at a additional of SGD5.00 each.

The bracket / rod / additional round thing for the hook + installation cost me SGD280.00

Are you sure your windows are 200sqft? The 5 rm all windows combined only 161sqft.

Anyway, even if it's 200sqft, that's $22.95psf

I am offering at $16psf nett (slightly cheaper than Gimz). I quote you $3200, assuming you really have 200sqft. If you have 161sqft (which I think it's more likely), it's $2576. Is yours white powder coated? Mine is.

Nope, mine is normally alumin type. Powder coat i worry after it chip off.

Tonite I will go and measure those windows myself. Kind of puzzled me too, 200sq ft...

Yesterday, I called my ID, attempt to cancel but he told me already febricating, cannot cancel and over the phone, he say quoted was $3,700 but actual was not more than $3,500. However last evening, I went up to my hse and did my own measurement....

LR - 4100 x 2100 = 8610000 sq mm => 92.677 sq ft

MBR - 2400 x 1300 = 3120000 sq mm => 33.583 sq ft

BR1 - 2100 x 1300 = 2730000 sq mm => 29.385 sq ft

BR2 - 2100 x 1300 = 2730000 sq mm => 29.385 sq ft

Kitchen - 2100 x 1300 = 2730000 sq mm => 29.385 sq ft

Balcony - 3700 x 1300 = 4810000 sq mm => 51.774 sq ft

Bal. Fixed Panel - 3700 x 600 = 2220000 sq mm => 23.896 sq ft

Total: 26950000 sq mm => 290.085 sq ft

ID Charged me $3,500 for all casement windows except balcony, whereas balcony alone, sliding with fix panel @ $896 but manage to get "free" upgrade to casement windows too.

Reverse Calculation...

For all casement windows except balcony > $3,500 / 214.415 sq ft = $16.32 / sq ft

Balcony with fix panel alone > $896 / 75.67 sq ft = $11.84 / sq ft

To summarise, in total, I'm paying $4,396 for 290.085 sq ft of casement windows + fixed panel @ balcony area + fix up casement air-con opening.

Base on my measurement and calculation, am I correct? In this case, my windows are d@mn big...

If not WPC, it should be even cheaper. Anyway, WPC won't chip off so easily.

Did your ID say it will chip off easily? :)

After the windows pricing incident, my ID update me that total cost including all above does not exceed $40k. I'm now waiting for a copy of the updated list.

Funny thing is Windows Grills cost me only $1170 excluding Toilet and Balcony.

Balcony alone, windows grill cost $650. Thinking of outsourcing balcony grill but see how my cash flow 1st.
