mercey 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2009 Hi all, I have an urgent query and hope you can help me. If I want to change the DB box for my resale HDB flat, should I rewire the whole house at the same time? Or can I just simply change the DB box without any rewiring? What's the correct way to go about doing it? Please advise. Thank you!!

Or can I just simply change the DB box without any rewiring? Hi, I have the same question as mercey actually. Appreciate replies. Btw, here's what my ID quoted me. Waiting to meet up tomorrow because I think some items are overpriced. a. light/ceiling fan points – 2 nos. @ $50 = 100 b. 13A twin SSO – 3 nos. @ $60 = 180 c. heater switch for hood / hob – 2 nos. @ $60 = 120 d. heater pt – 2 nos. @ $100 = 200 e. SCV point – 1 no. @ $120 = 120 f. remove and install only new light fittings (exclude chandeliers) – 12 nos @ $15 = 180 I have not even included telephone points and extra single/ double points or change the switches in the quotation. So not sure how much is the additional charges.

kxil 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 I just want to change the cover for the power sockets as they look old and wld look odd with the new kitchen cabinets. But the quote I was given sounds so exp - $60 for single power socket/ $80 for double. Why so exp when all I need is to change the exterior? Was told they got to do re-wiring even when change cover only.. Is it true? Can I get better rates than quoted? Thanks!
