Sorry guys, just would like to ask, is it that only licence electrical worker then can do wiring for our unit? Because I've check with my ID and she say most electrician in the market don't own the licence. And if will have to engage one with... The quote will be higher. Is that true? Is it die die must have licence then can???

I heard from my ID, the electrical company sure have an LEW in the company to endorse the electrical works done by that company. But the workers in that company don't have licence. Hmm.. Confused

Haa, before i encountered all these problems with Sebastian, i also recommended a friend to him.

My friend's electrical work also very small and on the appointed day to do the electrical work, Sebastian didn't turn up. My friend called him many times and he also didn't bother to return calls.

yes. One big-sized local indian and 2 banga/indian foreign workers.

Three of them did the work badly, ccracked my kitchen wall tiles, uneven laying of casing. gave the big indian a fridge o the first day, he carted away, only to find out he left it on the lift lobby.

Strangely, it disappeared a week later when they were supposed to turn up to do the wiring. Sebastian and his workers went MIA, including the fridge too.

Seem we have the same workers, 1 big size local Indian and 1 very thin blanga/indian worker. The very thin blanga/indian worker is very hardworking albeit inexperienced. My casings were also unevenly laid with gaps at the adjointing corners.

Installation of lighting - $7 x 46 = $322

New 2 way switch (5 sets) - $20 x 5 = $100

New 13x2 socket - $55 x 30 = $1650

New 13x1 socket - $45 x 3 = $135

1) you're right, installation of downlights are priced on top of the cost of 'pulling' the new point.

2) my electrician did not charge me for the cost of switches and powerpoints (normal MK brand). Maybe you're opting for those designer types of fanciful switches??

no, item 1 is correct. light pt 30 + installation 10 = 40.

it's the normal practice.

if u're asking him to change the switch/sockets on existing ones, he might charge u for installation fee unless it's those that are relocated or added power points. however, i believe most decent contractors out there will just do it FOC out of goodwill.

i suggest that if your electrician is charging installation for changing of the existing gangs, better u DIY yourself.

all u need is a test pen and ensure that the mains are off.
