Recommended Posts

hi all my electrician charged me as below =(

light point - 22 pcs x $50 = 1100

double ( ??? ) - 3 pcs x $65 = 195

heater point - 1 pcs x $80 = 80

scv point - 1 pcs x 110 = $110

wiring for 2 way switch - 2 pcs x $60 = $120

hager big switch ( all ) = $ 280

install all light - 6 pcs x $10 = 60

total $1900

seems ex?

For HDB apartments...

Urs considered market price liao... Quite reasonable...

But still can be cheaper... If done by me ^^

I am waiting for my contractor to give me a quote...

But I just wanna check out a few things from you expereinced fellas...

The house is a resale and nicely wired up. I just need to change the lights, and the type of sockets\switch(frm old fashion small ones, to big ones)...

So no need re-wiring, with a few extension..

How much will it cost? $1K?

Hmm.. I think a comprehensive rewiring can be had just a tad over $2000. A more modest requirement would come under $2000 so try not to pay too much.

I am quite satisfied with my electrician that handled my renovation. Anyone who wants his contact can PM me.

Nothing more affordable like below $1k?

Kitchen got hack and re-tiled, so need new sockets, the rest juz change light and change to new socket or switches... ... No repositioning, etc...

Hi, I got a quotation for $40 for a new power point by pulling an existing one from the corner of a room. Is this a fair quotation?

It is for trunking. I had wanted to conceal it but was suggested against it by the electrician as he said the drilling creates fine dust which make the room dirty. I asked him what if I use newspaper to cover the part of the room for which the drilling is going to take place, he said that won't help much.

Hi, my electrician quoted me the following. Can I still bargain?

13 Amp Double = $60

15 Amp = $90

Water heater = $90

SCV = $110

Telephone = $50

Board = $350

Is the below reasonable?

Lighting point and install x 16 @ 40 = 640

To install and conceal 2-gang power point x 1 @ 80 = 80

To replace existing 1-gang power point to 2-gang x 3 @ 30 = 90

Total : 810

After discount of $10: $800

I have the impression that usually, we have to get the boxes & face plates ourselves, and the prices quoted by electricians do not include the boxes & face plates. Is this true? If the prices quoted are inclusive of these items, would it make it more reasonable?
