Guest our-home Report post Posted August 14, 2008 We just received quotes from 2 contractors (not ID) for some electrical work: New lighting point: $60, $50 Labour to install light fitting: $20, $12 1 13amp single: $90, $50 1 13 amp double: $100, $75 1 SCV point: $180, $135 My hubby and I think these people added "fuel surcharge" into their prices. And it could also be that, as some forummers have mentioned, quotes for HDB and condos are different. At this rate, looks like we're going to have to cut down more things we wanted to do/change in this 8-year old unit. Quote for haulage & chemical wash: $600, $1500 (such a vast difference from 2 contractors!). This is just one example. Don't know where to start bargaining ... perpentual 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 That's really costly! For mine, I am not sure if its expensive anot... I did full house, wiring, re-locate some wires and points, total for 4 rm flat is $1,500. At first I think he quoted hubby $1,700, but we bargained as ours is new flat and my sub con also told me for new flat should be around $1,500 for everything.... hope that helps...
