chilla18 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 When Inch was open on the first day me and my friend drop by looking for sofa and the lady that serve us mention that we look like salesman from the furniture industries(cause we were wearing long sleeve shirt). I told her we are not and we are office worker around that area but she say we do not need to bluff it is ok we tell her where we are from(which furniture company) cause SK does not have office worker and both of us look like salesperson. I repeat that we are not and I would like to see her boss and "feedback" to her boss about her and you know what she say go ahead no problem at that moment I was like "WTF" why got this kind of sales person and both of us walk out of that dam shop and walk over to IFC that was opposite, later came to know from a friend that was in the furniture industries that the lady that serve us was one of the partner. Is it the one at sims drive also? I saw the same shop you mentioned at the expo today. Sofa seems ok but now I start to worry. Lucky that I did not get anything from them yet. lalaland 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 I have seen Inch Design a few times at Expo furniture fair. The design of their furniture look modern and stylish. For twice, I only walked past their exhibition but did not go in to enquire. Last week, I was at the fair and went in to enquire about their sofa bed. We were looking for a sofa bed which has the mechanism to allow it to be converted from sofa to bed and vice versa. The younger lady "C" (apparently, she is the designer of the furniture) served us and she started by introducing briefly about that only sofa bed and slowly went on to tell us that they don't really design such sofa bed as the mechanism will spoil easily. She then introduced me to her custom-made couch bed and started to tell me the pros of it.. She was going on and on for a good 15 mins and we just listened on. As I quite like their furniture, I went on to ask her more about her company and the things they do so as to get a better idea for future reference. Throughout the conversation, she keep telling us to place a deposit with her now and we can choose the design, etc later. She insist that we place a deposit with her there and then. I told her that we need to think about it and will take a walk around the fair and will go back to her if we are interested. To my astonishment, her face turned black immediately. She rolled her eyes and then say " I have been speaking for so long!" I am really surprise that she as a boss, has this kind of attitude (the company is owned by her mother and her). At this point, I have made up my mind NOT to get anything from Inch, no matter how much I like their furniture. This kind of hard selling service and attitude won't go a long way! And I cannot imaging having to deal with her if I purchase the furniture from them.

nurikonagano 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2011 Had earlier placed deposit for a sofa (>$2k after GST) with them when I was at the Modern Living Fair 2011. Thought it's pretty nice to have custom made sofa for my new home, so had a shock when I saw this thread. Totally no positive comment about them?? Pray and hope that mine turns out ok. I've yet to even discuss with them on the exact size and design of the sofa I want.

laiwh 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 Thought I should offer my experience with this shop since I just had my bedframe delivered last Saturday. Actually I was quite worried after putting my deposit for the bedframe and reading all the negative remarks about this shop. After making the order, I called them a few times to change my bedframe design and the guy who answered the phone was very friendly and patient even though I asked a few stupid questions. Delivery date was delayed, not by them but at my own request because of some clash of schedule on my part. A few days prior to delivery, they called to confirm delivery date and time and address. Items were delivered in good condition. The delivery guys (I suppose they are the boss' sons) even helped me unpack my mattress (that came before the bedframe) and placed it on the bedframe. After everything was done, they cleaned up the mess and brought the rubbish downstairs instead of simply throwing them at the centralised rubbish chute at the corridor like some inconsiderate deliverymen do.Overall, my experience with them is rather positive. CASEmember 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Dear Friend,It's quite unsettling knowing that you have to face such treatment from Inch Design ...may i know that isn't it that for each case you need only go to the Small claim tribunal once and the judge will order Inch Desgin to compensate you once the order has been made in favor to you?Won't CASE intervene if this Inch Design has so much complaints lodged with the association?I hope you have no more further furniture woes from Inch Desgin.cheersI will not buy from this company.
