Our New Home At Pasir Ris

Recommended Posts

I've beening browsing RT forum since I signed the purchase option 2 weeks ago....

My agent just sms me that our 1st appointment date will be mid May this year and the floor plan will be send to me next week...

Can't wait to start my own T-blog here lol

Because I am kinda noob to reno, really hope to receive advice from all the experienced forumers here^^;

Below is the floor plan taken by HP

floorplann.jpg

My reno ideas as of now:

1) Overhaul both toilets (floor, wall, basically everything)

2) Overhaul kitchen (again, must redo everything)

3) Redo the floor for living area, dining area and 4 bed rooms (still thinking of going for Homogenous 800 x 600 or marble)

4) Build-in Wardrobe in MBR

5) Rebuild the wall and door for study room (The previous owner hack the wall to make it open concept)

6) Display cabinet/Book shelf in study room (yes... finally i can have a customized display cabinet for my collections!)

7) Redo lighting for the whole house (still thinking whether to redo false ceiling or not)

8) still thinking what else to do lol

hi madcat,

welcome to reno t-blog, and happy CNY. Mine is also an EA. Since you are redoing the study room wall, then maybe you want to consider doing glass walls, very classy. That's what I am doing. Wish you a smooth reno ahead :).

hehe.. thanks for the suggestion. The previous owner only hack the wall that with door originally. So i think it is kinda difficult to have glass wall with door.

I am thinking of just do a normal wall with door, so that it will prevent my kids from smugle into my treasure room (all my toy collections will be inside my study room LOL).

After playing with floorplanner, this is my idea for our new home.

floorplandiydesign.jpg

No hacking of rooms, because wife wants to keep at least 2 bed rooms for our kids and I want to have my own study room to display my toy collections lol

the living area near balcony is kinda pack... so does the dining area.

Any advice? :P

room for a breakfast/bar counter?

any specific themes in mind?

Thinking of that now lol

anyway, my wife and I want to have simple design.. no need to have very fancy one de ....

because we got 2 kids at home, our home must be easy to maintain.
