Sleeping Location For Master Of The House / Head Of The Household

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Currently we just bought a resale HDB flat where there is already a build-in wardrobe there. The bed will be in this location since that's the place we can put. Please see pic below.

Since this is the master bedroom, so the head of the household will be sleeping in it. But in terms of fengshui, it is no good for the toilet door (in circle) to be facing where the head is sleeping right?

So I suggest not to use this room but the room furthest to the right. The size is about the same. But my spouse insist on using the MBR as he loves the balcony. He suggests to tear down the existing wardrobe and erect a new walk-in wardrobe to block the toilet door. But I find that it will make the room smaller and reduce ventilation of the MBR toilet. Moreover, the wardrobe is still in good condition that I find it a waste to dispose of it.

I am thinking of consulting a FSM, but I think there could just plain and practical common sense way to do it before I consult one.

Do note that the MBR leftmost wall is facing west.

Can just install a full height curtain at the MBR toilet wall, and close the curtain when sleeping. It will also creat a full hieight window feel at that location. Cheap and useful method. I am also using this method. Intend to hack off entire MBR wall and replace with glass, and erect a full height curtain there, close it when sleeping. Checked with my FSM, he says ok as long as its closed when sleeping. Likewise for TV in front of bed, it reflects, so need to block it as well.

Hope it helps. Cheers.

Hi Ernie,

That's really an ingenious idea! And to hack off the entire MBR wall and replace with glass looks great too! It lets in more light too!

But what kind of glass will you being using? Clear? Frosted? Will it be sliding or folding doors?

It seems like my hubby is bent on installing walk-in wardrobe. He finds the current layout of the wardrobe on the long side of the wall makes the bedroom too narrow.

Also, he intends to remove the board that blocks up the small window on the west side of the wall. With this opening, it means that the bed cannot be there right? I understand that it will cause illnesses like flu when sleeping under it. In this case, we have to switch sleeping directions to face west, right?
